Local businesses, students and residents are invited to sign up to a free comprehensive business seminar programme which has been launched this week by Marketing Cheshire as part of the Celebrate Cheshire event, taking place on the 16th and 17th September at Chester Racecourse.

The seminar programme will include over 40 seminars delivered by organisations like the National Apprenticeships Service, the Manufacturing Institute and including subjects around Exploiting International Markets, Improving the Manufacturing bottom line and Investment opportunities in Chester and Cheshire.

Highlights of the extensive Seminar Programme include,
‘Using Social Media as a Marketing Tool’ with Andrew Greenyer Head of Marketing Knowledge and IT at NW Business Link. Andrew explained “Delegates will gain an insight into how Social Media is used by businesses today and will look at some real examples of social media marketing by big brands such as Coca Cola, Pizza Express, Nike through to small local North West businesses” Andrew said “Many small and medium sized businesses have not embraced the power of Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets and are missing the chance to get their message to huge audiences, consumers and potential employees”

Another significant seminar for small businesses is “How To Win Public Sector Contracts”.  Melanie Bryan from Why Not Change will be leading the session which aims to demystify the processes and paperwork required. Her session is all about how to discover tender opportunities and be “tender ready”. A must attend event for Cheshire and North West Businesses who would like to win a share of the £220billion that the Public Sector spends on goods and services each year.

The seminar programme on “Business Friday” is supported by a host of activities on the “Opportunity Saturday”, which is specifically designed to showcase the leisure and employment opportunities that Cheshire has to offer.

One of the exciting events on the Saturday is a massive Giant Scrapheap Challenge where attendees will have the opportunity to build and parade their newly created Giant around the racecourse. Team members for this will be recruited on the day from attendees to this entertaining day out for all.

Also on the “Opportunity Saturday”, there will be a whole host of other exciting things to do, including sporting opportunities with Warrington Wolves, Cheshire Jets, a taste of Cheshire experience and the chance to enjoy Chester’s annual kite festival.

There is also something for the Voluntary and Community sectors as Stephen Wright will be there to give a better understanding of grant funding sources available to voluntary and community sector organisations.

Organisers are encouraging people to register for this free programme on line at www.celebratecheshire.co.uk, as numbers are limited and places are allocated on a first come first served basis.
