BOY band of the moment One Direction spent a night in Chester this week while they reportedly filmed a video at a top secret location.
Pop sensations Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, who make up the group, enjoyed a one night stay at Carden Park Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa before heading off to film a video to be used during their up and coming tour.
Well known for having hoards of screaming girls following them wherever they go, the 2010 X Factor finalists kept their visit to the hotel, and the location of the film shoot, a closely guarded secret.
But they enjoyed a meal in the Carden Library, at Carden Park, of steak sandwiches and chips, and were more than happy to talk to children and guests at the hotel and pose for photos during their stay.
Hotel general manager Hamish Ferguson, who met the boys, said: “They are a great bunch of lads and seemed to really enjoy their stay here. They were happy to chat to some of our younger guests, sign autographs and have their picture taken. It was a pleasure to welcome them here and we hope to see them again in the future.”
Formed on last year’s X Factor television show – where they finished third in the final - the band’s debut single ‘What makes you beautiful’ reached number one in the UK chart. They are set to release their second single and first album “Up All Night” later this month. Their sell out UK tour will take place later this year.
