Staff was amazing!!! The staff is credit to management!! 2 being gluten free they knew all ok for what to eat!! Found portions smaller than than 1st time visiting but all produce has gone up and upderstand!!

This was a friends reunion and we were not disappointed from start to finish.
We booked an early dinner as we heard it got busy later..We were very well looked after and everyone really enjoyed their food and service.š

Early Friday lunchtime so not many around. Chelmsford seemed quiet on my first visit and this restaurant is 1 minute from the station.
There are more restaurants nearer the river but this one was fine. Nice ambiance, although music a bit loud for me. Good range of pastas and pizzas with extras available. Glass of Multipuciano and later, a Vecchia Romagna, softer than whisky or brandy.

Second time of visiting this restaurant, couldnāt fault it. We booked ahead to ensure a rake could be reserved for my birthday, no problem. The wait in between courses was well times, fresh and very hot food. All round impeccable service. Bathroom facilities very clean, a lovely vibe in the restaurant as it was very busy! Iād happily recommend to family and friends and will return again soon.

If I could give more stars , I would!!<br>We have visited a few times in the past few months , the food here is outstanding! Lovely staff who are so friendly and go above & beyond! They surprised my daughter with a candle and a cake for her birthday .. it made her evening .. Such a lovely cosy atmosphere- highly recommend Il palazzo! Best Italian food Iāve ever had!

Iām not sure what went wrong , but it certainly wasnāt quite right either - my prawns starter - the prawns came literally uncooked - raw , when I pointed out they offered to bring new ones but I can only assume theyāve completely forgot about it. In the meantime my fellow diners finished their starters and I ended up eating no starter. Wasnāt a big deal but I was still charged for it and no apology was offered. Itās a good place for a pre theatre meal but please cook the food before it goes out of the kitchen.

My wife and I fancied some Italian food so went looking and found this lovely little restaurant. So we thought we'd take a punt and see if we could get in. We were welcomed at the door, asked if they could fit us in and was shown to a table. The staff were very good, friendly and polite and the food was absolutely top notch. We will definitely be going back... More than once.

Fantastic authentic Italian restaurant, the food is amazing always served piping hot by friendly and knowledgeable staff that make you feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble they are very happy to accommodate any special requests you have and you can take your time between courses. Generous portion sizes and reasonable prices will definitely be visiting again soon.

Lovely place to eat if your going to the theatre. They have a pre theatre menu which is not expensive. I had a pizza and dont like tomato sauce and they kindly let me have a pizza without the sauce. Goid value. Would highly recommend x

The food was amazing, well cooked, tasty and they know their menu. Lovely wine and engaging staff made for a wonderful evening with friends. I can highly recommend the calzone and sardine starter, although the scallops and insalata caprese were also thoroughly enjoyed as was the pollo Milanese

Excellent attentive service with a good amount of time left between each course meaning we had a lovely relaxed family meal. The food was delicious with ample portion sizes but not too large that we left some! We will be going back.
