We had the pre-theatre menu selection and it was very good value and all freshly prepared. Definitely recommend it for anyone going to the civic theatre.

Really great place. They took us in when they were busy, treated us exceptionally well and gave us great food. We were just visiting the area but the place was buzzing and clearly loved by the locals, deservingly!

イベント中に食べたエイドの食事は正直あまり口に合いませんでしたが、こちらのイタリアンはどの料理も本当に美味しかったです。雰囲気も良く、料理の提供タイミングやスタッフの対応も丁寧で大満足でした。

Our small group had visited the Civic Theatre tour and chose the IL Palazzo for lunch. Entering IL Palazzo restaurant was a wow factor. So sparkling clean and inviting. We were greeted immediately with a warm welcome. We had not booked but.....I am told by our friends I was meant to book?. This was not a problem for the staff who quickly put 2 tables together to make the 8 places.
The other tables were not crammed together and gave a good space between each table.
The menu looked great and enticing. We were delighted to choose from the 2 course set menu for £15:95 each. Most chose different items and were all delighted with our choices with plates all empty which shows how tasty the food really is at this delightful restaurant.
We ordered various drinks before settling on choosing our food.
Several chose the Bruschetta to start, some chose White Bait. Several chose the mains of Insulata di Pollo, with generous portion of spiced chicken, salad and other veg. The others chose the pork dish. We all ordered coffees.
The service is great, not hurried and with the warmth of Italy.
We are all sure we shall return, even if not all together.

Lovely, traditional Italian restaurant. For my sins I had the pepperoni pizza, which had a nice crispy crust and was elevated with green chillies. My friends scallop and courgette risotto was delicious too, with fresh, sweet scallops.

16th birthday. We had a large group of 17, including children. This did not phase the restaurant. Food and drinks came out tasting beautiful, without any confusion or muddles. The service was wonderful and the little surprise touch of singing happy birthday with tiramisu was so kind and sweet. Everyone enjoyed their time and their meals, and the price was so reasonable for such wonderful food.

My third visit to Il Palazzo - I really cannot recommend this place enough. The service is wonderful, the atmosphere is amazing, the food is out of this world. So nice to have an authentic Italian restaurant to go to, rather than the chains you find in the city centre. Absolutely love it here! The crab and prawn spaghetti is 10/10! Will be back! 😊

Five of us sat at table T-4 on Saturday evening and as ever had a fabulous experience.
Everything was just perfect, choice of starters, main and dessert; service were all second to none. No complaints at all!!
Thank you for a most enjoyable evening.

Have visited many times, we usually take my parents for dinner. We are all fussy eaters, but have always been well looked after. Food is delicious (best pizza in Chelmsford), fresh, tasty. Service is always wonderful. A calm place to be. Would definitely recommend

Staying in Chelmsford to see family we have often been to this restaurant.
Every time has been lovely. The staff are very friendly and professional.
We had bruschetta and mozarella de fritte to start (sharing) and then vegetarian pizza and mushroom tagiatelle. All the food was delicious helped down by a nice house red wine. I would say it is good value too.
Would definitely recommend.

Went here for our wedding anniversary and had a lovely meal.
The food was excellent (and good value), as was the service.
Our second visit wasn't as good and the lasagne was a disappointment. I'll be back, but unfortunately the excellent experience of the first visit wasn't repeated!

Generally not a fan of Italian but will definitely be heading back to this one! The flavours speak for themselves and very varied menu. The octopus salad was a treat and I had the veal wrapped in Parma ham which was tender and delicious! The tiramisu hit all the notes of coffee, amaretto and chocolatey goodness. Il Palazzo is now on my list to return ❤️

It's been a while since I last visited this restaurant, but I will be visiting more regularly following a wonderful lunch with family., I had forgotten just how good it is. Lovely restaurant, good food, friendly and efficient staff, and excellent value for money.........what more could you want. I will be back soon.

4 of us went for lunch. It was very busy when we got there but the service was prompt and friendly. I hadn't been for some years and was looking forward to going again but I am sorry to say that Iwas disappointed with the food. I had the seafood risotto which was a bit stodgy and just had a few small mussels and squid rings so not much flavour. My wife had whitebait followed by Chicken Milanese. Both were overcooked and the sauce with the whitebait was inappropriate. All in all adisappointing visit.
