service very good and quick.pizza's great.All portions a good size except one which which would have fed an 8 yr old no reduction on price just" sorry about that" however as this was a family meal I did not want to make a fuss as I knew it would upset them.

4 old schoolfriends out for an early dinner, really enjoyed ourselves. Staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Food was good quality for the price, no doubt we will be back there again for our next catch-up later this year.

Firrst visit. Booked, had to pay £30 deposit (first place ever to ask) Reviews were very good, nobody mentioned there was only a set menu tonight! So, disappointed after browsing the website menu. Food nd choices were good, steak was chewy (sirloin) would have preferred fillet. Service was patchy with some staff attentive and others not watching customers when they should. Based on this visit- average, but we will return to try the full menu.

Went here today for a birthday lunch - our first visit, and we really enjoyed it. We had drinks and shared bruschetta and fritto misto to start. Then went for a monkfish daily special (sauce was fantastic), pollo milanese with spaghetti, and a saltimbocca. All the food was fantastic and the staff were friendly and efficient. We had a great time and will be back. For 5 of us, including coffees, it came to just under £150 plus a tip.

Late night, last minute, decision to visit but as always a great reception. Excellent food, wine and service - Manager Sam and his Team are exceptional and take time to ensure that everything you may need or require is there for you.
Great value on the Specials Menu and A La Carte offers plenty of choice, including selections that are listed.

Went to celebrate my mums 73rd birthday with a party of 7 of us. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Great choice of food all cooked beautifully. We asked if we could present my mum with a birthday cake we had purchased elsewhere and this was no problem with all the staff also singing happy birthday. Superb place, far better than some large chains of Italian restaurants. Certainly gets our recommendations.

First time here after hearing great reviews about this place. It certainly didn’t let down, unreal variety on the menu , great atmosphere , fantastic service and most importantly great food. I'm a bit behind with this review but nevertheless I wanted to add something to the site. We've been here several times, always before going to the theatre, and it doesn't disappoint. Food is good, staff are lovely & the ambiance us nice.

We visited this restaurant tonight for dinner and although the food and service were good our table seemed to have been wedged in, it seemed they were maximising bookings at the expense of customer satisfaction and were I to visit again I'd ask for a specific table. I'm not normally this picky but the table we had was behind a post and in the middle of two Isles, so people passing on both sides throughout the evening which we found distracting.

Il Palazzo offers the high standards associated with good Italian restaurants being especially handy for users of the Civic Theatre and Cinema being practically opposite this venue. They offer special theatre going deals. The staff have winning Italian ways being eager to please. They offer a wide choice of Italian/Mediterranean meals and as said have never had a meal here less than enjoyable. By Chelmsford standards this is an upmarket eatery and adding on wine/drinks, starters, dessert and coffee could leave a hole in the pocket but then isnt quality worth paying for.

A return visit to Il Palazzo after a bit of a break. Greeted on arrival when the restaurant was really busy. Excellent attentive service. We all went for a Main followed by a Dessert. The cleared plates told the story. A really enjoyable evening and we shall not leave it quite so long before returning.

We have eaten at this restaurant on numerous occasions and can honestly say we have never had a bad meal. Birthdays, family get togethers and today a pre theatre meal have all been perfect. The restaurant even accommodated us for my daughters hen doo when they opened especially for our party. There is no best dish as everything I have eaten here has been delicious. If you like Italian food you'll love IL Piazzo. Surely this is the best Italian restaurant in our region.

We went for our second visit in one month. The first time was on a Friday and had a wonderful meal. The second was last night just before the theatre and once again we had a lovely meal. The staff are always so helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant
