Came to shwings on the first time Tuesday. Owner was friendly and attentive to all tables... And the place was rammed!!!!! With a good atmosphere and great music.
despite how busy it was our orders were taken quickly and the food and drinks came over surprisingly fast. We had the shwing wings and BBQ wings both were awesome but star of the show was the buffalo wings !!! Still thinking about them now 1 week on.
For anyone that has been put off and given a bad review I would give it another go couldn't fault the place and on its busiest night. Places like this do have teething problems at the beginning and being a new concept you'd expect it....but they take on the constructive criticism and really listen to their customers to make a place to really enjoy for the foreseeable I really wish these guys the best and will be returning next week!!!!

Quite simply the best Chicken wings I have ever tasted, I went vegan for a couple of years a few years back, I had every intention of doing so again, well that was until I ordered the buffalo wings from Swings, turns out I'm goin full on vegan again but anything from Swings is permitted, my illogical yet delicious reasoning.

Me and my other half came after hearing rave reviews. I will say they had quick service and a friendly environment. But the only criticism I have is that the wings platter choice that we ordered from the menu, the food that was served didn't offer enough food for two. Plus you couldn't choose ALL flavours for your wings from the choices provided which was a big disappointment!

Went here Friday night with a friend and being a massive chicken wing fan was really excited and thankfully Shwings didn't disappoint. I had the Buffalo wings with cob and slaw and all were exceptional. The house made slaw was so good and the wings were not only super tasty but pretty big too. Staff were really friendly, very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be returning. Go check it out if you like wings people!!

Lovely place, great wings love the honey chilli and Thai Sweet Chilli too. My only criticism is the level of the music - way too loud! Not good talking in a raised voice to someone 2feet away!! Can’t believe anyone finds experience enjoyable 😩

It would have been four stars, except that:
Music too loud when no-one else eating in restaurant at 5pm
'pickles' - would have been good to have had a few silverskin onions and well as split gherkins
Pina colada cocktail (£7.95!) completely flavour/alcohol-free; was just like white crushed ice
No soap at shared handbasin outside loos, at 5pm (or no-one had checked it before the busier period)
And no wipes, bowl or decent napkins to wipe fingers after wings
However wings, chips and coleslaw all very good and lots of gluten free choices overall.

Really great place, great value and great food! We went here after the cinema and were stuffed when we left! The staff were all very attentive and we felt very welcomed. We will definitely be returning!

Well it's quite hard to review an establishment which focuses on a rather boring (yet delicious) dish...
So let's give this a whirl, the atmosphere inside the establishment is rather nice. It's clean and has an industrial feel as you kind of expect to find in all independent eateries.
The food is served swiftly on little bowls & plates nothing overly fancy but the crockery of choice is hardly a concern with the dish type.
The food !
Loaded fries - loads of flavour in the toppings of choice and a reasonable portion. Overall nice I would like to see the loaded fries section of the menu expanded slightly.
Now some wings. Whilst there it was during a promotional all you can eat wings part of the week ( Happy Tuesdays )
The wings are a brilliant size - with a nice layer of crunch on the outside plenty of flavour.
The flavours !!
Shwings - a rather mild piri piri garlic flavour with a drizzle to side. Has a nice overall flavour but I would like it to have a bigger kick and garlic taste.
Jerk - Sweet, smokey & plenty of sauce. Lovely flavour
BBQ - wasn't overly for me, had a bit to much sauce and I found in comparison to other flavours just a bit dull.
Buffalo - The buffalo sauce was lovely and had a nice kick to it. But I must advise everyone to try it with the blue cheese sauce ! Stunning
Thai sweet chilli - lovely and crispy not to much sauce it's sweet chilli what more needs to be said
Honey & Chilli - my favourite hands down. Lovely flavour highly recommended it. I feel like I could eat this for days.
Hoi Sin - found the flavour combination of Hoi Sin on chicken rather odd personally, not unpleasant just a bit different. There's a reason Hoi Sin is usually served with game bird and it's to do with the way the flavour compliments the meat. I'll have to try these again to get a true idea of opinion.
Overall it was above experience. I shall be back. Now please expand towards Colchester.
