This is our oldest goat whose name is Jack. He is approaching 20 years old which is far older than any goat might normally be. We had a visitor recently who saw him in his multiple layers of rugs and, at the time was shivering. She asked about Jack and was told that he has arthritis and doesn’t like the cold very much—that’s why we had put multiple rugs on him.
Recently, in the mail, this lady sent us two pairs of “over the knee” socks
for him to wear. I know that she considered this as much a bit of a laugh
as a serious attempt to keep his legs warm. We put the socks on him and he is keeping them on! In fact he seems to like them. The socks are fluorescent green with fluorescent yellow and pink hearts on.
