Let the Lancashire countryside into your fabulous dining experience at one of the North West’s best loved restaurants.

The Fisherman’s Retreat near Ramsbottom has just completed a superb extension, with a “wow factor” panoramic glass wall, opening up spectacular views of the rolling Lancashire hills. Watch red deer bound across the green fields and white Charolais cattle graze nearby as you enjoy the locally sourced fare, some home-reared, for traditional and modern dishes.

The new first floor dining room extension , the Valley Suite, can seat up to 140 people in the wooden beamed, vaulted room, which also has a private dining room seating up to eight people. The suite has under-floor heating and the latestaudio systems.

It is the perfect setting for wedding receptions – a wedding venue licence has been secured for couples who wish to marry at the family-owned Fisherman’s – and a great place for conferences or private banquets. A function room catering for up to 170 people with private bar has been fitted out underneath the restaurant. More themed events are planned
with guest speakers. The elevated location is photo-friendly - indoors the panoramic windows letting natural light flood in - and outside the tranquil countryside scene, ideal for those special wedding day memories.

Proprietor Hervey Magnall has brought in top chef Paul Harries, who recently ran the restaurant at Selfridges, Manchester, and has prepared special dishes for celebrities including Posh Spice Victoria Beckham and Oasis rock star Noel Gallagher.

The Fisherman’s, nestling in 80 acres of the Twine Valley, has been delighting diners for 20 years since it was first opened by Hervey and his family who pride themselves on their independence and best quality local produce.

Over the years it has grown into an award winning venue with one of the finest whisky selections in the UK, complete with retail store. It was named whisky pub of the year in the Good Pub Guide.
