The quality of food and service equals that of a high end city centre restaurant but with the friendliness and surroundings of a cosy country establishment. Highly recommended.
A BIG Thank-you to Hervey and the team at the Fishermans Retreat for hosting The Best of Bury Networking event last night. The event ran smoothly from start to finish, the staff could simply not do enough for us, they were all courteous and helpful. The venue is simply stunning from the Bar to the Function rooms, the Restaurant, the Toilets...I simply cannot recommend this place enough. The food was lovely, we ordered Meat & Potato pies, mushy peas and red cabbage or Cheese & Onion pie, I had the Cheese & Onion and have to say it is probably the nicest I have ever tasted. I would recommend the Fishermans for any function from a small event to a large Wedding. Thanks to all.
The Fisherman's Retreat is a fantastic venue with great food and a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
A first time visit for me. I found it to be an excellent venue, excellent food and good service.

Superb venue and equally brilliant service. A great night. Will surely be back.
Today was my first visit to The Fisherman's Retreat - what a fantastic venue and a great evening!
Great customer service and also very friendly staff. Will be back soon, thank you.
A fantastic venue, would definitely come back. Great food and atmosphere. Would definitely return and recommend.
Very nice facilities, good food and great meat and potato pie. Will come again and as a business owner would be interested in returning to hire the room.
Beautiful home cooked food and modern fresh surroundings. Highly recommended.
Came for a friends get together and had a hog roast - "AMAZING"! We are trying to get another group together to come back. Excellent service, love it to bits!
The most amazing cheese an onion pie and mushy peas ever! I had a second helping - enough said!
A great venue, fantastic food, brilliant atmosphere and also wonderful service and staff.
Just wanted to say what a great success our networking event was that we had at The Fisherman's last night. The feedback from everyone I spoke to was extremely positive. Many people had previously visited but there were others who hadn't but were all keen to make a repeat visit. The venue was excellent, immaculately clean, the food lovely and the service equally good. A perfect venue for any occasion and most highly recommended! Thanks to Hervey and the team. :-)
Great food and a great atmosphere, friendly with Children. Home cooked food, most enjoyable.
We have been coming to dine at The Fishermans retreat for around 7 years now and we still love it! We travel from Bolton (approx 30 minutes) and it is definitely the best restaurant ever. We have small children and are always made to feel very welcome, even when the children are not sat quietly at the table with us! The menu is amazing, we have tried most things on it and the specials are always fantastic. Since Sunday mornings have been available for breakfast too we have enjoyed it even more. This morning my four year old son said that he didn't want boring toast for breakfast but he wanted to go to The Fishermans Retreat instead! In short, if you want great service, fabulous home grown/very local food and a breath taking location, then try The Fishermans Retreat, you won't be disappointed.
Been meaning to go to this restaurant for a while, after seeing the sign on the main road to work. And so glad we did. Set in lovely countryside (although was dark, the drive to the restaurant was pleasant and the pictures within the restaurant showed that it was built in 1992 in lovely countryside. Lots of nice ale, whiskeys and wine to choose from, cery friendly warm greeting. Upon being seated after choosing drinks at the bar, we could of eaten everything on the menu, as the choice was varied and all sounded delicious. Excellent portion sizes, very quickly served, but not too quick, so we could enjoy conversation and settle between courses. Waitress was attentive and polite, atmosphere was very quite as the restaurant was not busy (Wednesday evening) Will 100% be visiting again.
Had our wedding venue here and it was amazing. The whole team made us feel special and our wedding went great. The attention to detail is second to none and Steph the wedding coordinator was great she had everything under control and was always at hand for any questions/help we needed. The food was fantastic and everyone loved it, lots of our guests are going back to have a meal it was so good. The evening event was great too, a lovely decorated large room that was modern and housed all our guests easily. All in all the Fishermans Retreat is an absolute gem, hidden in the hills just waiting to be discovered.
A big thank you to the Fisherman's Retreat who made our wedding day such a fantastic occasion. Everything was spot on and we could not have asked for more. Thanks again and we hope to see you soon. Kieran & Dawn.
"Fab Food" We were invited to a wedding reception at the Fishermans Retreat and I have to say the meal was the best ever wedding reception meal I have ever had. The attention to detail was spot on, a beautiful setting with wonderful views, lovely happy staff where nothing was too much trouble. We had a nice chat to the owner Hervey who was quite a character but a lovely man. Next time we are in England we will definately be back for a meal.
My boyfriend brought me here last night on a spontaneous night out. I had the Trout and he had the surf and turf. Truley fantastic food, service and location. We will defo be back for more !!!
