Twelve months ago an idea was born that would make a difference to the Bury business community. The idea became an initiative, and on the 9th May 2018 was brought to life when the very first Made in Bury Business Draw took place.
Since the 9th May, Made In Bury have handed out thousands of pounds to business owners and their employees across the borough of Bury, that’s £2,000 every week to a number of very lucky recipients. Whilst some have vowed to put their winnings to holidays and home improvement, a number have also invested the money back into the borough and taken their teams out to celebrate, in turn generating revenue back into supporting local companies.
The Made In Bury Business Draw was established under The Made In Bury brand to enable new start-up businesses to access valuable coaching and development through the Made In Bury Business Academy, as well as funding interest free loans.
The Business Academy includes support from successful business owners and industry experts by delivering a structured programme over a 12-month period, to guide and develop new start-up businesses at the most important time in their journey.
How to get involved
The Made In Bury Business Draw is open to all businesses, community groups and their employees throughout the borough, from Prestwich through to Ramsbottom. Tickets cost just £2 each, and with a maximum 2,400 tickets available, and selling fast, the return should you win, is amazing.
The draw which is licensed by Bury Council takes place around midday every Wednesday and the winner is announced shortly after.
There have been some amazing responses so far, with every recipient receiving a giant cheque “out of the blue” and without warning to ensure total surprise.
