We’re coming up to Father’s Day 2016, and here at thebestofbury we want to make sure that you and your family have a perfect day. And it’s not just dads who deserve a special treat this year, think of your grandads or even great-grandad!

So we’ve done the research for you and put together some fabulous ideas for how you can spoil your dad on Sunday 19th June.

Food

Why not let him act as King for the day, and book a table at The Village Hotel? Their Sunday Roast Lunch includes tasty salad & starters, roast meats, veggies, Yorkshire puds and delicious desserts – all for just £16.95 per person.

Spend a day out in Bury visiting the Fusiliers’ Museum to learn a little more about our history, followed by a fantastic lunch in the upstairs café, Delicious.

Or, if you just want to treat your dad to a hearty meal out in the evening, then check out some of Bury’s best restaurants, including The Clarence for some pub grub, THE Chinese Buffet for an Oriental feast, The Venetian for an Italian escape… or if he isn’t a fussy kind of fella, treat him to a Tompsons Chippy!

Shopping

You’ll find a huge range of gifts and clothing at The Pilot Mill, all at fantastic prices, so whatever your budget, and whatever his interests, The Pilot Mill will stock something perfect!

For dads who are keen gardeners, you will find a gigantic range of “giftspiration” at Newbank Garden Centre! From novelty gift ideas to that water feature he’s been asking for since the dawn of time, finding the ideal present couldn’t be easier.

Performances and days out

The Met might be in the middle of its £4.6 million refurbishment, but that doesn’t mean they’ve put a halt on the performances! Treat your dad to some new jokes at their First Thursday Comedy Club, or enjoy some amazing folk music with Blazin’ Fiddles!

If your dad’s a sentimental kind of guy, why not arrange a photoshoot for you and the family, before getting your favourite pictures printed out and framed? It would make a fantastic gift he could keep forever – and photographers have the magic touch these days, so no need to worry about looking completely camera ready!

There are some brilliant films out in theatres in time for Father’s day, including The Boss featuring Melissa McCarthy, X-Men Apocalypse and the Angry Birds Movie! Check out what else in on at Vue and follow the cinema up with a trip to AMF bowling and there you have a recipe for a fabulous day out!

And for dads who enjoy kicking back with a beer to watch some live music, take him to XLII after 4pm! They’re a fantastic wine bar in Ramsbottom who put on live music every Sunday from 4pm, along with a FREE cheeseboard!
