Everyone at Bluebird Care would like to wish our customers and friends a happy Christmas and prosperous 2011!

A new role in the office (and a larger office) due to our continuing growth

Donna Turner, who joined Bluebird Care Bury in October 2009, has been promoted to the role of Care co-ordinator from December. Donna will be responsible for preparing and managing the visit schedules and care worker rosters.

So if you need to discuss your schedule please contact Donna on the normal office number.

From the beginning of January we will be expanding our office space at the Warth Business Centre although our address and telephone numbers will remain unchanged.

New staff

From December 7th we will have 30 care workers and 5 staff in the office. At Christmas last year we had 16 care workers and 2 staff in the office. The latest starters include – Zora, Kirsty, Kate, Leanne and Suzi who joined in November and Lauren S, Chris, Lindsay and Suzanne H who start on December 7th.

Personalisation of care is producing results

Three years of hard work are now paying off for Bluebird Care Bury. From day one we focused on personalisation of care and the positive feedback from customers, their families and friends, and social work professionals shows this is the right way to proceed. We believe we have been at the forefront of the new personalisation agenda for some time.

But we will not sit back and relax. Bluebird Care Bury will continue to invest in training for staff and has been able to promote from within to important roles. With one third of our care workers under 25 years of age (local average 10%) and many new to the sector, Bluebird Care in Bury continues to set the pace.

Awards for Staff

The October Care Worker of the Month was won by Denise Merrills who stepped into the breach to handle On Call during the month and dealt with a number of difficult issues with efficiency and ensured all calls were covered without fuss.

In November the award goes to Vivien Hayes who has received rave reviews from her customers since she joined the company.

Do you know anyone………

who is not satisfied with their current home care provider or might be thinking that some help in the home would be useful, please put them in touch with us. There is no obligation on them; just an opportunity to meet Theresa or Joanne to discuss their needs and how Bluebird Care Bury can help. If you want a Bluebird Care leaflet to give to them please ask your care worker.

Improving our service

The Annual Customer Survey will also take place during December. We will be sending out questionnaires for customers to complete to tell us what you think of the service Bluebird Care Bury provides. Please take some time to complete the form and return it to us. We treat all comments in strictest confidence and will respond to all compliments and concerns.
