Running from September 2025 to June 2026, the Academy offers a unique opportunity for start-ups to gain expert guidance, develop a comprehensive business plan, and become part of a thriving local network.
A Proven Track Record of Success
Launched in 2016, the Made in Bury Business Academy has supported 164 start-up businesses across the borough. The programme is built on the belief that with the right coaching, mentoring, and environment, start-up survival rates dramatically increase, the results speak for themselves.
Meeting twice a month from 10am to 12pm at BusinessLodge in Bury, the programme is delivered in a classroom style format that promotes collaboration, focus and productivity.
More Than Just a Course

Through bespoke training modules, expert-led sessions, and ongoing mentoring, the Academy equips founders with the skills and clarity they need to succeed. From sales and marketing to financial planning, customer journey mapping, and branding, the curriculum is shaped to cover every key area that early-stage businesses need to master.

The Academy doesn’t just talk the talk. Many of the people who now teach on the programme were once members themselves. Take Kerry Evans from Share It Media, she recently delivered a powerful social media module to current Academy members having once sat in their shoes as a participant.
Kerry offered expert advice on understanding your audience to creating content that drives engagement. The session highlighted the importance of using social media not just for visibility, but for trust-building and lead generation vital tools for any new start-up trying to get noticed in a busy market.
