Another Halloween is upon us, and, as always, there are plenty of events taking place in Bury for both adults and children, which we’re sure will spook you.

The great thing about this time of year is the excitement on your children's faces during the upcoming events - Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas. The last quarter of the year really is the best when it comes to spending quality time with your family but, with SO much going on, how can you CHOOSE?

With a population of 80,000, Bury is one of the biggest towns in the UK and frankly, there's ALWAYS something to do - you just might not know about it. So, here are 7 of the best Halloween events in Bury. Keep yours eyes peeled for our Bonfire Night & Christmas blogs!


East Lancashire Railway's Halloween Ghost Trains

What can be scarier than being on-board a decorated steam train where freaky monsters will be roaming the carriages? Grab your fancy dress, enjoy a BBQ on the platform and jump onto the terrifying train. ELR's Halloween ghost trains are hugely popular every year. 

Cost: £13.00 for adults and £5 for children, includes goody bag

 

Fright Fest

30th/31st/1st from 1.00pm - 10.00pm

Fright Fest takes place over three days at Burrs Country Park and features stilt walkers, fire performers, a fairground and of course, plenty of fancy dress! There will even be a good vs bad princess show!

The great thing about this is that it's completely free - hurray!

 

Halloween Lantern Parade

31st from 3.00pm - 6.30pm

Grab a lantern and take part in this freakish parade at Nuttall Park, Ramsbottom. There will be activities during the day including face painting and of course - lantern making. A pumpkin-carving competition will also be taking place.

Parade starts at 6.00pm and is bound to be petrifying!

 

Halloween Family Spooktacular at Village Hotel

31st from 6.00pm - midnight

Village Hotel will be getting into the spooky spirit with this petrifying party, including a buffet, disco, fancy dress competition and games for the entire family.

£10 children, £15 adult

Pre-Halloween Bingo Celebration

28th from 7.00pm - 9.30pm

Mecca Bingo is hosting a session of your favourite game in spooky style, including a free trick-or-treat bag, LED lights and free inflatable ghoul!

A pumpkin-carving competition could see you win £50! Come on, who doesn't love bingo?!

With a paranormal invesigator in company with an expert at mind games and trickery, this freaky fright night will have you intrigued at what lies beneath our world.

Food and drink available includes dragon's blood, broken fried fingers and trifle eye balls. Oh, and horror films will be playing throughout.
