The service at this hotel was first class, polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were in good order, clean and tidy as well as being tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and the the food in the bar and the breakfast was very very good. I can safely say i would definitely stay here again and would recommend without any reservations this hotel to anyone considering staying in the area.

Stayed here for a friend's hen party in Manchester - great value, much better than the nearest 'budget' chain hotel!

Made use of the pool, although Saturday morning with lots of children may not have been the best time!

The attached pub-style restaurant was good value with nice food, there's a Starbucks inside too, and the breakfast buffet offered plenty of choice.

we use the bury hotel more than any other village hotel, but have been to most of them,it is very good value for money one of the cheapest, with the best staff, very helpful. Great pool and spar ,good restaurant and bar ,also free parking so we can take the tram into manchester so easy, the room is always clean and fresh with an exallent breakfast, also Burys new shopping centre is very good for my three girls just a great location for everyware in the north west.

Just got back from a weekend at the Village in Bury. It's a very convenient location next to the motorway, but that does mean there's not a huge amount else around there to see/do

Positives of the hotel for us were the very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was good, room was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfy. I tried both the gym and the pool, which was relaly good - probably the nicest bit of the weekend and not too crowded either

Negatives: We would've liked a room with a bath, and TV didn't have many channels. We didn't try the restaurant, but it did appear to be pricey

Overall, I felt it was okay value for money. I'm not sure we'd rush back as we've been to Bury now but I would be happy to try some of the other hotels in this chain

Nice rooms with free Wi-fi and a large pool. Pleasant fittings and furnishings with clean rooms. The hotel is set in a business park just off the motorway next to a river and some greenery. The location next to the river meant that there were lots of flies outside so opening the window is not really much of an option. The rooms were a little bit hot with no airconditioning.

There is a nice restaurant in the hotel, a starbucks, a pub and lots of parking.

I would recommend this hotel as a business/conference venue. The lounge next to the meeting rooms was very nice for breakout sessions with a coffee machine, stocked fridge and couches.

While I have to agree this was a value for money stay I still expect to get a good nights sleep when I hand over my money.

The village is neither a hotel nor is it a village and has something of an identity crisis.

So when a wedding party took over a large part of the facilities not only did we suffer noise from the function but drunk inconsiderate guests in the next room who kept us up ALL NIGHT! Despite our complaints the to reception the noise continued. We were left exhausted for the final day of our trip which included a 280+ mile drive.

On the whole though the room was good, service was good and the breakfast reasonable.

Others have mentioned the steps to the entrance which are an accessibility nightmare for both those with additional needs or those who simply have a case to carry! There was no obvious alternative easy access.

With tribute acts and karaoke nights on the calendar this appears to be a venue for local stag and hen parties rather than families but you gets what ya pays for.

Would I go back - nope!

P.s. on departure we did complain and did get an acceptable resolution although a lost nights sleep is difficult to make up.

I have been to this hotel 5 times now on different occasions and you can always expect an excellent service from all members of staff who are friendly and easy to approach if you do ever encounter a problem not that I have had any problems there myself.it is very clean and tidy in all areas.it is also very child friendly, I will be staying again for sure.

Very dark rooms in need of a makeover (old pillows, cracked sink, scuff marks on walls etc.) Very dark and noisy (loud music) reception area. Good access to North-West motorway network, but that is just about the only thing going for it, probabaly the worst of all the Village Hotels I've stayed in.

Stayed at this Hotel several times . Always find the room very comfortable and clean . The bars are comfortable and the staff always friendly . Usually eat at the carvery which is very good value and has a good choice as does the breakfast in the mornings . We always look forward to our visits and have already booked our next evening there .

This is the 2nd time I have stayed in a Village Hotel and I can't fault it on anything. The staff are extrememly polite and helpful, the hotel is in lovely condition, the rooms always spotless and overall just really good value for money! There was a slight mix up with the booking on our first stay as we'd gone through an external booking system but the staff at the hotel could not have done more to help solve the situation for which I was very grateful. I've already got a few more girly weekends in mind as the spa packages are brilliant and could not recommend it more!

This is a standard Village hotel. it has more than ample parking, excellent sized clean rooms with good facilities. Bar is welcoming and food very good. Stayed for 3 nights (not for the first time) while working in bury very close to motorway but quiet enough, only problem is sometimes when there is a function on the noise is a bit annoying. Also (no fault of the hotels) every morning there seems to be children running up and down the corridors screaming and banging on peoples doors.
One more point I was working late and had the cleaner just walk in at 7:30am which was a little annoying, mentioned to reception and received apology but it shouldn't happen if I haven't left my key at reception really.

Stayed at the Village Hotel on a Saturday night and the public areas were very busy with party goers. However our room, overlooking the river, was very quiet. Getting to the room was a bit of a hike and the layout puzzling - made worse when the door key didn't work so had to return to reception. When in the room only one double bed for the three of us and this was only sorted after two requests. The breakfast was fine and enjoyed our time in the gym. Worse thing about the Village hotel chain has to be the choice of corporate colour that is best described as 'sludge'. Time for a change?

I stayed at this hotel with work for 2 nights. The room (on the first floor) was clean and comfortable. Nice big bed, big flat screen tv, small but clean bathroom.

Breakfast was ok - the selection could have been better (more cereals etc) but what I had was tasty. Ate in the bar in the evening (and one lunchtime) and although the menu is not as varied as I would have liked the food was nice.

I would highly recommend the quiz night on the Tuesday - one of the best one's I have ever been to with good prizes.

There is also a large pub just outside the entrance to the car park, which has a brilliant food menu (and a carvery) which is a nice alternative to have if you are staying for multiple nights.

Didn't use the leisure facilities, so can't comment, but the pool looked very good.

One small point is that it is in the middle of nowhere (just off the motorway) so would be difficult to reach by public transport I imagine.

Overall I would highly recommend.

We stayed at this hotel for dinner and over night stay as part of a Sunday special offer. Food excellent (both dinner and breakfast) and the staff could not do enough for you. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

We stayed at this hotel the night before flying from Manchester Airport, we stayed in a standard double room which was very nice and modern, the room was a good temp and very quite, the tv was a good site with a number of channels.

We had dinner in the verve resturant which was very nice and we did the 2 dine for £29.99 for 3 courses each excluding drinks which was very good value.

check in and out was very quick and easy and there was lots of parking, the starbucks to the from of the hotel was also very nice, there is also a gym but we did not get chance to use it due to needing to leave early in the morning.

The room was a good price and there was tea and coffee in the room, the bed was very comfy.

I would recomend this hotel.

This is a story of two halves. I have stayed at the Village Hotel, Bury a number of times and always found the hotel to be of a good quality.

The communal areas are very nice. There is a Starbucks (which can struggle with service delivery at busy times), a decent sports bar and a very good restaurant (The Verve) The leisure facilities are excellent – a great pool and very well equipped gym and spa. In all a decent Village Hotel.

The rates are very fair and in principle there is no reason not to recommend the location for either business or leisure. (I have attended a couple of small conferences here and the service was excellent)

Okay, so my gripe on this trip (and one which compelled me to submit this review) is the disparity in room quality. I have previously stayed ‘in the front part of the hotel’ in a standard double. They are very nice rooms, well appointed and very well decorated and equipped. They have a feel of boutique hotel which rich fabrics and colouring which give the hotel a very classy feel.

This time I was given a ‘Superior Double Room’…room number 17X. This room is at the back and beyond of the main hotel. You go up in the lift…walk through long corridors to another lift…go DOWN in the lift…and round a few more corridors and you are then transported back in time to a Travelodge (circa 1980’s) Orange and browns, cheap furniture, tired, uncomfortable beds and zero soundproofing give the rooms a genuine motel feel!

Anyway, to cut a long review short…..make sure you insist on a ‘new bedroom’ in the main part of the hotel when you make a reservation. If they cannot accommodate you, there is a very nice Mercure about five minutes away which is new and equally well equipped.

We stayed here recently, for a family function held in the Hotel, and we found all the staff first class, very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little dark but very clean and comfortable and included an iron, ironing board and hairdryer, plus tea/coffee making facilities and tv, excellent.. This is a very busy Hotel and Leisure Club but we never had to wait very long for any service. Breakfast was nice enough but could have been a bit hotter. All in all we would recommend this Hotel and but for the very few minor points we were more than satisfied with our stay.

I was booked into this hotel through my company booking agents Intel. It is very large and has a leisure complex so people outside of the hotel guests were troopsing in all through the day. There was also a "sports night" event on during my one night stay so the bars and foyer was alive with people in DJ's accompanied by their female partners who mostly should not have persevered getting shoe horned into their long gowns. My room was good, very clean and large but in places the decor was starting to get a bit tired, particularly along the corridors. The door key card system was not working so a member of the reception staff had to accompany you to your room to open the door for you every time you wanted to get in. Reception staff were extremely friendly and this was a plus. I ate in the restaurant but the food was very mediocre though adequate. Had I been paying for it, I might have been a bit miffed. Overall, this hotel was far too busy for me and not a place where you can find a quiet little corner to relax with your lap top after a hard days work. If I was a private traveller I would not choose this hotel for a quiet break.

Stayed here last night on a hen party night. Accommodation was very good. Large bedroom with all the amenities (plus ironing board and iron in room) and large bathroom. Bed very comfortable. Food was included in our package and also a boy band tribute act. There were a few birthday parties and hen parties about 23 tables so for mass catering I thought the food was very good. Although the vegetarian option apparently wasnt a hit on our table. There are good leisure faiclities - loved the swimmiing pool. Drinks very very expensive but despite that we had a cracking time and I would attend another event there and stay over. Breakfast buffet was good.

We and our friends stayed one night to attend a 'Robbie Williams' tribute night.

The leisure facilities are good, there is a pub and function room (tip - buy your drinks from the pub not the function room, much cheaper).

Rooms are very nice and beds comfortable. We found all the staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nice and leisurely (on a previous stay here it had been chaos - so a big improvement).

Great value - Villages send lots of emails with offers and deals. So will be back!
