A great weekend. The room was ideal once the very friendly and helpful staff provided us with a radio to listen to Radio 4. The food in the restaurant was superb and very reasonably priced. Because there were parties in for their Christmas dos, the service was rather slow and the room noisy. Breakfasts were great and I appreciated the free newspapers.

We didn't stay at the hotel just had Christmas dinner there. The dinner itself was quite nice but very rushed. They where clearing the tables around us. It was good for adults but not very child friendly. After dinner we wanted to carry on celebrating so went to the bar. We where then asked to leave at 6:00 pm as we where not residents.

I must start by saying the staff are great, so friendly and will do anything to help especially the housekeepers. I am currently staying at the hotel with my husband over Christmas, and my only couple of gripes is that first, we have booked to be on the upper deck, mainly due to children not being allowed, however this is not the case, as there are kids running up and down the corridors - not impressed. Secondly the Christmas dinner was £59.99 each, and when my husband was asked if would like lamb or turkey, he asked if he could have one slice of each, but was told no, its one or the other mmm once again not impressed. I've no idea why he was told no or what difference it would have made especially for the price we paid!!! So far apart for those issues, the hotel and food are ok.

Great party night venue... fabulous spa facilities for the price. Food average but the atmosphere on the party nights is brilliant. .. not recommended if you want a quiet get away but great for party's.

We stayed her to attend a works Christmas party nearby, the room was basic and the tv picture too fuzzy to watch,we used the pool facilities which were good.
Breakfast was ok but not brilliant.
For the price I didnt think it was cheap, have stayed in others in same area which I think are better value.

Stayed here last night for my husbands works do. We checked in and went to our room which was like walking into an igloo. Once we found the thermostat which was on the wall at the opposite side of the room we realised why it was so cold. It was set to 10 degrees. The maintenance guy assured us the heater would stay on if we left the room so we went down to the bar to warm up. Went back to the room and the heater hadn't stayed on. Any card however can be used in the slot so we then left a card in when we went to the party so the room was warm when we returned.
Also we were supposed to have sky sports 1 but couldn't get it, even the maintenance guy who was very pleasant and polite couldn't get it working so the hubby watched the football in the sports bar instead.
We really enjoyed the party but didn't rate the meal. Th veg was rock hard. However breakfast he following morning was good part from having to queue to get a table and our coffee didn't arrive until after we'd finished eating.
All in all apart from the freezing room and food issues we had a pleasant stay.

The hotel was full so when we arrived there on a Friday night were no standard double rooms left and we were upgraded to an Upper Deck room. Very nice except it was above the pub and as there were Christmas parties on the music was booming until 1am. Same again Saturday night. I am not a killjoy but we were spending a quiet weekend visiting family and friends and just wanted a good night's sleep. Maybe those rooms over the pub and function suite should be reserved for partygoers? The room and bed were comfortable, food reasonable, great leisure club and lovely staff but the weekend spoilt by lack of sleep. Village hotels which used to be nice family hotels seem only to court the partygoers these days. Disappointing.

I have stayed here a few times and although the hotel is of a good standard and the service of high quality the rooms are incredibly dark.
The restaurant is good with a reasonable menu and wine list.
Not my favourite hotel in the North West but more than acceptable.

Glad we did the place has an excellent pool and spa facility. Everywhere was dig lit and it soon became clear that this was to hide the overall tiredness of the place. The room was ok in the dim light and the bed was dead comfy. Breakfast was great too and the staff were pleasant enough. We had dinner in the Victory Pub attached which wS average for food and very tired for decor although the girls that attended us were very pleasant indeed. 1 x night business stay for a meeting.
Check in/out was easy and pleasant experience. Allocated an upper deck room on the first floor which surprised me a little as on my previous stay these were only on the top floor and it was apparent that the room I was in had been converted to 'Upper Deck' but without the 'stealable' soaps and shampoo.
Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was well insulated and quiet - no complaints at all. Everything functioned as it should.

4 of us stayed in this hotel last saturday on a spa break deal. We had 2 treatments each in the spa the staff were lovely. We had a 3 course meal in the evening which was delicious and our waitress Sophie was so helpful and friendly. And breakfast the following morning was brill, lots of variety and excellant service again. The only minor criticism i could find was that the carpets throughout were looking very tired which is no big deal and didn't effect our stay. Any staff we came across were friendly and we enjoyed our stay so much so my husband and i are booking into the nottingham hotel!!

Good place to stay for a wedding or party. Bit old not flash but in a good location off the motorway. Plenty of carparking. The reception staff were welcoming. The hotel was cosy with big rooms. You can catch a football match in the bar with sky tv. Bar prices very reasonable.Breakfast was good quality but service a bit poor.Its ok if breakfast is leisurely. The swimming pool looked good but didn't make it .All in all the wedding made the stay great but at best this is a good three star with facilities

Motown themed night with family and friends for birthday night out. For the price this was atrocious value and seriously disappointing. The food was the worst I have ever been served and virtually inedible.The service was very poor ,seating was uncomfortable and meal was late. The entertainment was unremarkable.

Checked in and were given a very old and tired looking room, that was a bit grubby.
Went down to ask to be moved, Anastasia apologised profusely and put us in an Upper Deck room.
Room was spacious, comfortable, clean and the Starbucks & Sky package was a lovely touch.
The hotel gym is one of the best I have ever seen, masses of Cardio Equipment, Toning Tables, and a nice free weights section.
Had a spa treatment, which was brilliant, can't remember the therapists name, but she was lovely and very good at her job.
Loved being able to get a Starbucks before my early morning meetings.
Will 100% stay here again.

Stayed here for the night and can't wait to go back! Arrived to a very friendly receptionist offering Buck's Fizz, rooms are clean, very warm and inviting with an extremely comfy bed! Had paid for the upper deck room so the added extras of tea/coffee and full sky package were very welcome. Pool and spa facilities and staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurant staff very professional and friendly, again, couldn't do enough for you, even allowing us to take dessert back to our room to enjoy later! Food was exceptional, both the evening meal and the buffet style breakfast. All in all a fab stay for us, can't wait to go back.

I stayed again for another Super Josh event, this time I had an upper deck room and whilst I wasn't too happy about the smell of paint, because it upsets my asthma, I had a very comfortable sleep! - though a step ladder would have been nice! There were issues with the phone, so I did miss my allocated massage, but staff managed to rearrange this as I had not had my alarm call.
