This hotel is excellent. Staff cannot do enough for you. Restaurant food is excellent as is the bar food. I will definitely go again. There is a large car park and other places are within walking distance should you want to go out.

Easy to find by car.. Has free parking which is a great start, very friendly staff and we didn't have to wait to be checked in and got all the information we needed.

Very confusing layout of the hotel was so hard to find our room and get around the hotel. Even after few times we where walking allover the place.

Hallways and rooms could do with some upgrade feels dated. Rooms don't have the same quality feel like so many hotels out there. Even low budge hotels are more upgraded.

TV was large but standard channels no extra free view channels and picture was blurry.

Room is large we had a large double with a sofa which is nice. Bathroom is also large but again its dated. Old style Toliet sink and shower.

If you gonna spend a few days and a lot of time in the room I would look for another hotel.

My daughter and i spent a relaxing spa day with afternoon tea and treatment here on sunday. The facilities and treatment were excellent having been several times before we knew what to expect. The afternoon tea was disappointing on this o ccasion coffee lukewarm scone stale with runny cream andwiches basic however the day as a whole for the travelzoo offer was good value and i would certainly recommend the treatments

in the room, the handle for the toilet was cut off in length to make it fit as they obviously hadn't got the right one to fit, The sealant around the shower/batch was dirty and mouldy. The TV only had 3 Sky sports channels, Sky News and C4. No other normal terrestrial channels for local news. Won't be going back to this Village Hotel.

I get to stay here on business every week!

The hotel is a bit tired, but it's convenient and honest - clean as well. Reception has two champions - Anastasia and Beth - both friendly but prepared to go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Watch out for the summer! Rooms get very hot and there is no air con. Superb pool and leisure facilities.

I booked an upper deck room and was delighted with it. It was exactly as described on their web site.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I cannot fault it in any way.
The pool and gym was also really nice.

Lovely hotel and good location just off the motorway. We had a double room, very spacious extra pillows in room. 2 seater sofa to lounge on when needed. Did not use the spa facilities as only there for the night. Pub grub was lovely also in the victory inside the hotel. Breakfast had a good variety also with friendly Waiting staff, Overall loo forward to visiting again.

Arrived at the hotel and we were warmly welcomed by Reception Staff - even received a £5 off voucher for Verve Grill Restaurant. Room was an Upper Deck, as arranged the night before. Room was clean and décor modern. Bed was comfy and facilities in the room were great. Gym and Spa were really good too. We ate in the Verve first evening and the Staff and meal were excellent. The hotel was busy and anticipated rowdy/noisy revellers, but this was not to be the case. We both slept very well indeed.
Breakfast the next morning was fab. Housekeeping came and asked us what time would be convenient to service the room. We had room service on Saturday night and the meal was delivered timeously and hot. Breakfast on Sunday was just as good with a wide range of choice and catered for all. Would we stay here again - Absolutely!! Already thinking about a return near Christmas, even though we live over 300 miles away.

Well located hotel that just needs some TLC. Service and food is good. Lots of free parking as well. The rooms however are very tired and need refurbishing. There is free WiFi but the Tv channel selection is woeful. Plenty of loud room maids to wake you up in the morning so no chance of sleeping in. Overall ok for a nights stay but not a palace.

I'm gonna keep this brief and honest. Hotel is in a fairly industrial location but looks nice from the outside. Check in was speedy and pleasant, can't fault the pool or gym both are brilliant and well equipped...nice big pool with a few jacuzzis :) The interior is modern and feels very urban. The room was ok, could tell it had been refurbed but the bathrooms were still stuck in the 80's with tatty tiles and dirty, rusty plug holes. Bed was comfortable...pillows not so much so, we slept fairly well though. The meal at the function was poor, everything was luke warm and a little bland with slow disorganised service. The night as a whole was fairly good and the entertainment was a little cheesy but ok. Breakfast was luke warm and mostly burnt, no hash browns available, toasting machine didn't work great, but a good selection of fruit and cereals. The restaurant cleanliness was average, the breakfast was average and the whole evening was average. Don't think I'd go again in all honesty or recommend it but to each his own. We kept losing power in our room and had to keep trapsing back to reception because we had no power and couldn't get into our rooms...a little frustrating.

good value, breakfast above average, dinner a problem for guests especially when Verve restaurant booked out to large external parties.

Room very comfortable.

This hotel has a really young vibe about it, its very chic and cool, al all of the staff were extremely polite and professional. I stayed at the Urban Village with a work colleague, we arrived at 4.30pm and check in was quick, and informative, we were advised about the free wi-fi (always puts a smile on my face) and the pool, spa, 24hr room service. my room was decorated in dark colours, which I loved and it made the room feel restful and calm. We both went for a swim and changing facilities were great, with free towels, spin dryer for costume, free toiletries in the showers, etc. The pool was great, and not too busy, I also used the steam room, which was amazing and so steamy that i could not see across the room:bliss. we ate in the main restaurant and the food was excellent and well presented. That night I slept like a baby and felt so refreshed when I woke up! I cannot remember the last time I slept so well, I stay in hotels regularly with my work and this is definitely the best I have stayed in for a long time. The breakfast was a buffet, with lots of choice of fresh fruit salads, cooked breakfast, cereals, juices, different breads for toast. After checkout we stayed in the hotel and had a quick meeting in the Starbucks. I hope to return soon.

I've stayed here quite a few times now either over Christmas, or to meet back up with friends locally. The hotel is generally good but there are a few issues.
The rooms are constantly way too warm, both in winter and summer. The windows don't offer sufficient ventilation to address the issue, nor is there any air conditioning. The rooms are quire modern, but as you enter the bathroom you are transported magically back into the 1980's even though the hotel was built a decade later!
Our stay was spoilt slightly by the noise from the disco for a wedding downstairs, thankfully the baby was oblivious and it didn't disturb us too much, had we been on the 3rd floor I don't think that this would have been heard.
The main facilities are excellent, Victory Bar food was great, the breakfast is a must as it's the best hotel buffet breakfast I have had.......ever. The spa / pool / leisure club is great as well.

Overall, the rooms just need a little more attention and a cooling system, but to be honest we'll happily go back again soon.

Great for a one night stop over - spa and pool is really nice and clean. The rooms were nicely decorated only down point was a huge crack in the sink and not enough TV channels.

Breakfast is definitely worth the extra £10!

We always stay here when we come to bury , it's clean comfortable and modern and breakfast is always lovely. It also has a nice bar if you want a night cap! It's a little bit out of the way for bury centre but you can be there in 5 mins by car/taxi. I've stayed here at least 10-15 times and we have never had a problem

Good place for an overnight business stay , pleasant staff. My main point to state is that the rooms feel dirty and tired . Mine had shuffled around beds with no power at the side of the beds. Room wals had been roughly painted over to cover up previous drama !
To be honest it made me itch ..

I stayed on a one night business trip. The sports/spa facilities were fab, as was the food in the main restaurant. Room was nice and modern, but the bathroom was tired and dated. The room had not been cleaned fully since the last guest- clothes labels stuck to wall and on floor, ,hairs. Pretty gross and dissapointing as the place is generally nice. I did report it to reception who said they would pick this up with the housekeeper, but who knows! Would stay again, but needs some attention

Stayed here bank holiday weekend on booking asked for twin beds and walk in shower as I have walking problems and use a wheelchair. When we pulled up in the car park we were met with 15 or so steps. My husband had to go and find out how to get in with a wheelchair This was a lift at the side of the hotel and only just fitted a wheelchair with a leg extent ion and my husband Getting in and out of the lift was small ramps and the walk to the reception was along a paved area which in parts was uneven. Arriving at the room it was a double bed which was higher than the wheelchair so I couldn't get on Husband went to reception it was the ONLY room with a walk in shower so they had to split the bed. The housekeeper saw my predicament and got a lower mattress out of store . Reception said they did not have lower beds Even the bar area was paved so wasn't really suitable for a wheelchair and we had to move bar stools as there was no direct path we have stayed in the village hotel at Hull before and that was 100% better catered for disabled

We got a good deal here through booking.com, £116 for two nights B&B. large hotel easy to find, although Satnav hasn't caught up with De Vere/Village swaps. Large car park with plenty of blue badge spaces. There are a lot of steps up to the front door, but a lift is available at the side of the hotel. The hotel was very busy with at least three large functions going on, a wedding, a 40th birthday and a hen night. Our room was on the second floor in the main building which saved a walk from the annex. There is a large pool and excellent spa facilities. We ate in the Verve grill the first night and had an excellent meal, delicious ribs and a very tender fillet steak. This grill isn't open on a Sunday as they do an all day carvery until 6.30pm. We ate in the Victory pub the second night, good food and the same ribs are actually a couple of quid cheaper here! However this bar is noisy and several large screen TVs are constantly on. We managed to get some seats in the lobby area which was much quieter. As the hotel was so busy there was a large queue for breakfast on the Sunday, the staff said that no one had been before 9.00am and then everybody came at once, maybe a good tip would be to come early for your breakfast. Breakfast was pretty good and set us up for the day.
An enjoyable stay but look out for a good deal.

Hotel easy to get to, straight off m66, building old style rather than the "modern box", in serious need of tlc, exterior looked shabby, our upper deck room was large but looked like something had happened previously because there was a paint job done that did not match colour wise or hide inadequate plasterwork! The bathroom was not upper deck as compared to other upper deck rooms we have stayed in, the toilet I assume is very old and took forever to fill, the shower was pitiful and not what you would expect paying for an upgrade, the tiled floor had broken tiles all across one part of the floor. As said we have stayed in a few upper decks and this bathroom appeared to be an attempt (failed) to make it look upper deck.
Pub exactly what you would expect in a village hotel and comfortable area.
Staff were excellent and friendly throughout.
Nights were not great, because fri and sat there were "great nights out" events and as we were on the 1st floor at the front we were woken by (mainly) very loud women between 1 and 2am out on the terrace which is below the rooms,1st night Thursday was really peaceful and we slept well on the very comfy bed.
Food and service excellent as always with a village hotel.
Location good, go to bury, it's a 20-30 min walk, lovely town and very good market.
Breakfast was ok about same as other villages but make sure Sunday you go before 9 as the queue when we came out was ridiculous!
Overall good stay but the hotel needs work.

There are some really great things about this place but too many niggles to encourage us to return.

The staff we met were all friendly and efficient and check in was smooth. The Starbucks on site was a bonus and we ate in the Victory bar three evenings with no complaints - except very noisy at times. Breakfast was great but due to queuing at the weekend we decided not to bother on our last morning. Easy to find straight off the motorway and lots of parking made things easier and it's surprisingly close to Bury town centre which is brilliant for shopping / cinema / bowling etc.

We booked an upper deck upgrade and on our initial arrival were pleased with the spaciousness of the room. It was, however, very dark - the small window and the very dark decor meant it became stuffy quite quickly. We did have a fan in the room but it's not ideal to sleep with a fan running. The basic cleanliness was fine but there were huge old cobwebs on the ceiling in several places plus two clear greasy hand prints on the hard wood headboard. The hot drinks package was a nice touch although didn't always have everything in it and only one wooden stick for stirring - not ideal if you want to make use of tea, coffee and hot chocolate throughout a day - the addition of teaspoons would be a good idea. Bottle of mineral water very useful though. Bed was plush and comfy but we did struggle to sleep due to lots of noise inside and outside - music thumping until early hours, people shouting in the smoking areas outside and doors continually slamming inside. Our window looked out at the front of the hotel directly above the designated smoking area so our room smelt of cigarette smoke more often than not. TV was fine - Sky package not great as lots of channels (even those readily available on freeview) were not available to watch.

The real asset to our stay, though, was the pool! It is big and quiet if you time it right ie during adult only times. Steam room, sauna and hot tub were fabulous - all very clean.

At over £120 per night b & b, it's doubtful we would choose this again for a couples break but if you're staying because of a function eg hen party, wedding etc. then I think you get a good deal with the fab breakfast, pool & gym plus all the good outlets.

So, as I say ... mixed feelings about this one but probably just that we chose the wrong place for a quiet couples break!

Wifi is the only good thing. Telephone was unplugged in room - not helpful cos I booked a wake up call! - thankfully I noticed - even though I'm blind! TV has tinny sound. Cash point has a fee. I doubt I will stay again!
