We stayed one night in this hotel because we were looking for a place to host a reunion of a few friends and family members in the area. We were on our way home from attending a wedding and had decided to make a detour for this purpose. From that point of view, it was fine: the Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all our guests. There was plenty of variety and the price was reasonable. Parking is more than adequate and the hotel/restaurant is easy to find. The staff were friendly and efficient. I would certainly recommend the restaurant, if our experience was any guide.

However, one reason it's easy to find is that it is situated in an industrial estate, so I wouldn't say the surroundings are pretty. Our room looked out onto an adjoining roof. The room itself was large and included a sofa. The bathroom was fine in general but so streamlined that there was nowhere to put anything in the shower - not a single bit of shelving, so shampoo etc had to go on the floor. The shower itself was excellent - lots of hot water.

My main problem with the entire experience was communication. I lost count of the number of times I had to try in order to get through on the telephone. Booking the room and booking the meal had to be done separately but rarely was the telephone answered and, even when it was, I was usually transferred to another line, where there was no answer. I needed to increase the number of participants for the meal at one point and dreaded trying to do it - a dread which proved to be valid because I had to call four times before succeeding. When we got there I could see the problem - one employee in the main reception area and another by the restaurant, both trying to do too much so ignoring the ringing telephones much of the time. If the hotel would put more staff on duty, I would certainly consider going back, but not until then.

Staff - friendly no issues. 1 person on reception meant you had to wait sometimes.
Eating - restaurant had no atmosphere and was like a morgue, food ok but menu limited. Breakfast good but turn the lights up it is so dark in there. Pub was your standard pub chain standard.
Gym/Swimming pool - top notch.
Room (upper deck) - great TV, dyson fan, tassimo machine that had hair and gunge in the water tank. No kettle which was annoying as brought my own tea bags.
Bed comfy but duvet heavy.
No air con in room, windows and blinds bit shabby.
Shower ok but leaked water over bathroom floor ( no bath )
Wi fi good speed. No safe.
No room service!

Only used for sleep so didn't get to use the restaurant but it looked nice. Plenty of parking, free wifi, large flat screen TV with sky (Club Room).
Will use again next time in area.

Booked on one of the special offers. Good value for money and pleasant relaxed feel to the hotel generally. Pub is nice, and we dined in the restaurant and visited the Starbucks. Food quality was generally good

Lovely hotel however.... Booked a double it was two twin beds pushed together very uncomfortable. Generator buzzing away all evening outside the bedroom. Someone else body hair floating in the shower room ...... Gross! I wish I complained at the start but we didn't realise until the function we was attending had finished then it was too late.... What a waste of money

Hotel and room were fine, public bar was overcrouded and very noisey.room at the rear of hotel was affected by motorway traffic.Had an enjoyable weekend with friends but could have done with a quiet room for conversations.

Young environment, clean and comfortable room and bathroom. Pub was cool and bubbly! Best sleep! A bit far from center city Manchester.
המלון ענק, נקי והאווירה נעימה, הופתענו מהחדרים הנקיים וטלויזיית הענק בחדר. מאוד מומלץ!

Stayed here on the 31-8-8 for 1 night with my wife and 2 daughters because we are members at the village gyms we got a family room no breakfast for £80 the room had a king size bed and a fold out sofa (small) fold out sofa for 2 children not comfortable for them at all have had better experiences with village hotels before don't know if ther letting standards slip or just don't won't families to use ther hotels . Overall was a good stay though night before we were due to fly on holiday ...also for better value food use the pub across the way far better value when your buying for 4

Stayed one night with work colleagues. Smooth check in. Village hotels have great facilities on site, restaurant, bar, spa, pool & gym.
Rooms are stylish, comfortable bed, well equipped with iron & ironing board.
Friendly staff, good breakfast.

Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. It was just a short stroll into the centre of town with plently of shops and bars. Perfect location for a concert in Manchester not to far from the city without all the bustle

Room was great, Sky TVPlayer in the room was a nice bonus and enjoyed the stay. Bathroom was big and well stocked. The bar downstairs was busy but found seats easily enough though most of the TVs had sky sports news on all night... even one with something different would have been nice seeing as the football had finished. The only annoying thing was that you couldn't get any food after 10pm. I was waiting outside with 4 other people for a takeaway at the end of the night.

Village Bury was very inviting as soon as we entered the hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Rooms had everything in from hairdryer to ironing board. Sky TV was good to have in hte room. The evening meal was very nice, staff very helpful. After the meal the pub situated in the hotel was very inviting and relaxing. A lovely romantic stay. Hoping to book again soon.

Visited using the promotion £20 for a double room for one night. The room was very spacious, clean, warm and there were brewing up facilities that were restocked at our request. The only niggle was there were no toiletries except hand soap, knowing this we will take our own next time. We used the gym and other facilities which were clean but busy. Make sure you get a wrist band for the lockers as there are no signs stating you need one and the receptionist didn't mention it.

3rd i've stayed here now travelling from Liverpool, Had a good weekend but if you dont want to be ripped off in the Pub pop over to the Pub across the car park where the barmaids dont take a £1 when you offer a tip making it £5 a pint, Its little things like that you take away from a nice weekend away

1st time ive stayed in the Club Room, For the extra price i wouldn't say there is much difference than the other rooms, The place is kept clean and the staff (Apart from the 1 barmaid) are nice, Think its about time i tried another one of the Villages now and i'd like to thank you for my 3 stays ive had there

Great location right by motorway (front rooms can hear the traffic). Rear rooms very quiet. Had a free upgrade to a club room. Lovely super king bed. Looks great but not everything is practical. In a standard room you get a kettle, in a club room you get a tassimmo coffee machine which is useless if you want a cup of tea! In a standard room you get a bath with shower over it but in a club room you only get a shower (which is badly designed and leaks all over the floor). Leisure facilities looked great but we weren't made aware when we booked that we could use them without paying so didn't take our costumes. Had inclusive meal in restaurant which was very nice. There is also a nice family carvery style restaurant next door. A lot of people were smoking out of their windows as it was a long walk to get outside which is something the hotel needs to address. Would stay again. Went on a two night for £118 deal including meal on first night. Great value but would still pay £70 per night. Didn't have breakfast as it was £7.50 each and I just end up overeating!
