I went to the gym on the Sunday, which I am a member of. I went back upstairs and the weather was delightful so I went into the Verve for a Shandy. I was greeted by a lovely orange haired lady called Lucy. We exchanged pleasantries and she asked me what I was doing today, she said I should try the carvery since I wasn't doing much. I went in and was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious and nothing like the carvery at the Waterfold. It has so many options, unlimited. Particular highlights for me was the turkey and the chocolate mousse was delightful.

Had a one night stay so we could visit Bury market. The hotel is within walking distance at around 1.25 miles.
Hotel is spotlessly clean from the public area to the room and bathroom.
Even the public toilets are so clean.
Breakfast is well layer out and presented with friendly staff.
Any criticism - no dedicated reception!

We've stayed a few Village hotels and they do a very good job of being consistently good. The rooms are a good size, everything is cleaned well, and they have a good customer service in all the hotels. I wouldn't have no problem coming back here again and it's only a 5 minute taxi ride to the metrolink if you'regoing into the city.

Stayed over as we were attending an event nearby.I found their method of checking in strange. There is no reception desk just a member of staff standing by a square shaped desk, I was not the only person who walked past looking for the 'reception desk.'
Bathroom was fine. Liked the idea of the Dyson fan but it only just fitted on the desk so would worry about it falling off.
Did not like the fact that the mattress is within a velvet plush type surround together with headboard for me personally the thought of a velvet plush type edge to the bed was not a good idea. Could not find hotel amenities or 'welcome' on the TV screen and no button marked for 'reception' on the room phone. I had tried a week before to book an appointment in the beauty salon to no avail. Cost £120 for room only and I paid extra £15 for early checkin. Think we felt a little 'unloved.' Sorry Village Bury!

There was no reception desk to check in which is both good and bad. Good because you can check in quickly and with no fuss, bad because if there is a problem there is no obvious place to go. Starbucks, a grill and bar were all on the main floor and the toilets and spa downstairs. Room was clean if a little small, good selection of amenities though. We got a very cheap deal to stay here and overall, I'm not sure if I would pay full price to stay again.

Having stayed at various village hotels throughout the country, we were more than happy to stay here.
On arrival staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Room was tired looking compared to Edinburgh, Glasgow & Aberdeen hotels.
Carpet looked like it hadn't seen a hoover in weeks, shower tray was a bit grubby and marked.
Switch for heated towel rail but no towel rail.
Extractor fan broken so bathroom got very steamy. The only mirror was in there so made getting ready a nightmare but since the hairdryer didn't work I was past caring what I looked like! The staff did however replace the hairdryer.
Bed was clean and comfy. I had a good sleep, my boyfriend didn't due to some guy loading his lorry at 4/5am outside our window.
Had a late snack in pub which was tasty. Service great but the only thing which let it down was sticky tables and scraps of food all over floor.
All in all it was an ok stay. As title suggest we got a deal in January sale but I would not have. Even happy at paying full price for that room.

This is one of the best villages iv'e stayed at the easter deal was fantastic with breakfast included and a meal on the first night.

Room very modern clean stylish, huge bed with a zipper mattress bit annoying but it was really comfy if you didnt lie in the middle, the bed was a solid frame with a Sealy pillow top zipper mattress which are one of the best and expensive great night sleep compared to the Hilton at Blackpool please avoid that one lol.

Staff good and spa facilties great biggest gym i have seen in a hotel. Steam room out of action bit unfortunate but sauna great.

Food not so great even though it was in the deal. I had 250g rump steak and chips on the first night normal price 18.99 i would not of paid 4.99 itvl was cheap frying steak fatty the size of 2 slices of bacon i chewed and chewed and still nearly choked onit the chips hard in the middle, desert cheap sticky toffee pudding microwave pot ones and not the nice caramel sauce but ok.

Breakfast bit greasy and messy, sausages i left as didnt look cooled and were fatty, i cut into one and got splatted with fat on my new tshirt and on my face. Everthing else was good but no hash browns on offer both mornings.

Would return and seen Chesney from Corrie.

A nice hotel but a lack of customer service at reception was too evident. There was no greeting and no one present on departure. There were numerous parties in the hotel the night I stayed and could not sleep with doors banging all night.

Every time I have stayed here (always for business) they have screwed something up. Once or twice I can deal with but this is 3 out of 3 times now so it has to be more than coincidence and it all points to poor internal systems/processes. This time around, I had a meal voucher from my business included on the booking. When I tried to place an order for food I was advised I had no card against my room so would have to pay - at which point I advised I had a meal voucher on my booking - and they advised this would be taken care of. I encountered the same issue the next morning at checkout - again the same discussion and assurance it would be resolved - only to receive a pro-forma invoice a few hours later in my email requesting payment. Infuriating and a waste of my time.

I have stayed at the Village bury for over 10 years now, its a great little break when you are working all the time and just want some me time, not far to travel and I always get to relax and it is nice to have someone cook my breakfast for a change. Love an afternoon relax in the sauna and steam room. Bury centre is just a few minutes drive away, or half an hour to Manchester, check in and check out is very easy, you can even check in on your mobile phone, I received my invoice by email the morning i was leaving, very convenient and just had to pop my key cards in a box on the way out, looking forward to coming back in July

Staff- fantastic, very pleasant and helpful.
Accommodation - room was clean, comfortable and modern. The shower did not warm up and the pressure was low, there was a strange noise in the bathroom coming from the light- gave us headache. We reported it and were moved to another room. New room was nice, power shower! Clean- no problems.
Dinner- fantastic! I had the steak, my +1 had the prawns. Really tasty and filling.
Breakfast- no complaints.
Burger deal- no complaints. Adding cheese and bacon is 75p each extra and to add fries to make it a meal was around the same. Before you know it, it's a fiver.
Biggest issue was not being able to get through to house keeping or reception for 3 hours. The kettle was broken and we needed a replacement. After ringing externally and internally we decided to go up to reception. Staff were apologetic but it was not good enough really.
The stay was pleasant and I would visit again. Parking is perfect, and the facilities are great.
Thank you

I've stayed at this village quite a few times and it has always been a pleasure. I do love the new look it looks fantanstic. The colours an everything. The bathroom was extremely cold. And I missed the hash browns at breakfast.

Nice hotel with a starbucks inside which we enjoyed. The served nice hot and strong coffee just as we like. There is a large swimmingpool with a steamroom and bubble bath in the hotel . We enjoyed our stay at village as always! We hope to come back very soon!

I just love being a member of the newly refurbished gym at the Village, and since joining, I've made some fantastic new connections with other local business owners too, as it seems many of us like to workout and relax after a hard days work! I love the fact that their is a Starbucks too, as I usually catch up calls and emails after a workout, sauna or swim and then get on my way. Great location, friendly staff, I couldn't be more satisfied!

stayed here for work for 2 nights. the rooms at the hotel are spacious and well decorated with big comfy beds and good showering facilities. The gym and swimming pool are of high standard. I ate in the bar one night and the food was good. My only criticism is that there could have more food selection at breakfast, no drinks are labelled and no orange juice which is pretty standard in most hotels. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful

The hotel is in a great location just off the motorway and it's easy to walk into Bury. We have been here previously on a number of occasions and always have a great time. The only downside this time was the fact that they are now charging to use the swimming pool which I have never come across before at other hotels.

I Decided to try the village hotel on a saterday night as i had a food card and i had had a really nice sunday buffet there a few years ago. There where 2 functions on and while it was busy in the entrance the restaurant had one couple in and it had no atmosphere. The waitresses was friendly enough and gave us the menus nut i was quiet shocked how small it was specially for a hotel. The was about 6 starters and about 6/7 mains and the same for the sweets.i mentioned this to the waitress and she said they had just changed it.The portions were not huge but tasted ok.The women at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpfull but i wouldnt eat there again which would be to do with size of the menu and the lack of any atmosphere

+ excellent friendly and helpful staff !
+ free car park
+ large room with a very nice bathroom
+ free and very very fast wi-fi
+ restaurant and bar to choose from
+ swimming pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi, gym

- difficult accses to the front door of a hotel (stairs)
- selfchecking reception
- noisy walls and corridor out of a room
- cleanness of a room can be little bit improved especialy bathroom
- restaurant food is quiet pricy and chips came out burnt (the oil must have been ages old)
- pub food well, what can I say, just do not order any pizza (flatbread), it was rubbish
- location next to a very busy motorway
