I am a member of Village Gym and so I prefer to stay at Village Hotels when travelling in the UK. We used the Welcome to Fridays deal so had dinner included. Food was nice, nothing spectacular but good value for money. Very stylish rooms and the coffee maker in the room is a nice touch, however the coffee isn’t too good...would have been nice to have a selection and maybe a milk pod so that a latte was an option... will stay again :)

Hotel has been refurbed since last visit. Looks very smart now. Rooms comfortable, modern and clean. We asked for rooms together and quiet, and got these. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Think breakfast could include more bakery produce. But still plenty to eat.

We had to wait 50 minutes for our starters and when we asked where our food was they said it hadn't even been put through the computer so then we were waiting a further 20 minutes the staff just don't know what they are doing for this reason I wouldn't stay here again we came for a nice valentines night which ended up pretty rubbish because of the restaurant

Stayed here for one night for a Valentines weekend with me and my partner the hotel is very clean and the rooms are great the only problem we had was with the restaurant we walked in got seated then it took them 25 minutes to come and see what we wanted for a drink even the other tables were getting served before us it was like they had just forgotten about us then we were waiting a further 50 minutes before we even got a starter the first waiter said that they had been a problem with the computer and our order had an even been put through so we have to reorder our food again and then wait the second waiter said that it was because they were short staffed I think really they just don't know how to run a restaurant all in all at the end of the meal we complained we did manage to get a free bottle of Prosecco worth £28 and a free pint of lager. Just if you go here please be aware that you're going to be waiting a while for your food but the hotel it's self was great and the spa area was nice too.

Overall the room was ok. The bed was quite comfy. It was a quick easy check in. The location is really good as it’s just off the motorway. The bathroom was ok but I was really disappointed that in the description it said there was a bath and there wasn’t.

Clean functional room, obviously designed by a man as only mirror in the bathroom...yes I checked everywhere!
Breakfast OK. Staff pleasant. Wished I had packed my swimsuit. One of the nicest hot chocolates at the starbucks.
Comfy beds and lush products.

Very clean and tidy hotel. Members of staff all very welcoming, although breakfasts could be a bit better organised.
Facilities are all first rate, with more than enough of everything supplied in the rooms.

Comfortable hotel, nice restaurant, helpful and friendly staff. Unfortunately we had a bedroom next to a generator which was a bit noisy during the night. The room rate was discounted so perhaps that explains the room location.

Room deal overnight stay.
Good location as you can walk into Bury. Leisure facilities looked good but we didn’t get time to use them and looked busy.
2nd time we have stayed here before at this hotel.

Fantastic leisure facilities - ease of use even when very busy. Breakfast ok but not great. Nice rooms. Overall, not bad for a cheap stay (as booked in the Jan sales) but concerns as to their expectations of other bookings they take when advised on check in that security was on in case of noise at night on the corridors. However - aware, some may see this as a positive. As it was, didnt have any noise on first floor so maybe it does work!

Not my usual type of hotel but was best deal in area for one night.
Our room was fantastic, large with fresh, modern decor, a big comfy bed and very clean throughout.
The only slight negatives here were, a lack of main lighting in the room, despite a number of lamps scattered around!! Also there was very little handsoap or shower gel in the bottles provided. This was rectified by alerting reception on our way out for the evening.
The corridors and room doors do give the feel of some kind of institution unfortunately but i guess this is some kind of noise prevention measure??
On that subject, the glazing was a little ineffective as i was awoken by chirping birds long before dawn! The traffic could also be heard from the nearby motorway. There was also a lot of noise from a corridor above and then at 5:30am the fire alarm was activated for a few seconds!!! We were told on check out that this had been a technical fault and the receptionist apologised.
However, these were not the only noise issues, as we had also heard, at an early hour, several heavy items being "dropped" on the floor above.
Our only other "complaint" was that we couldn't check-in at 2:40pm on arrival. Granted it says, check in from 3pm but at this range you wouldn't expect a problem. The staff did take my name and in fairness they had my key card ready, when i went back to the desk at 3pm.
Another point to note is the large number of steps from car park to reception which wasn't a problem to us but maybe to others and I couldn't see a ramp for easier access?
This place is a fantastic facility but had a bit too much of a holiday camp feel to me, though that said, i accept, it fits into a certain category of accomodation.
Overall, however, i feel it unfair to rate it any less than a 4 and accept some of our negatives were "a bad day at the office".

It was ‘okay’ nothing special if it’s just a room for the night, £50 more then Premiere Inn which is better located then this hotel, if you want a gym and swimming pool then okay but still doesn’t justify the additional expense. The room was okay and clean, the hotel is looking tired now. We used the bar to eat, £40 for a burger and pizza with 2 drinks. 4/10 overall.

We had an enjoyable stay, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast good, but the drinks at the bar were a bit pricey.

Too expensive we arrived very late and there no pillows just think it was a waste of money really wouldn’t of been too bad if beak fast was included but £104 for one night is just too much there was nothing special about the room either

I absolutely love this hotel from start to finish. The staff are amazing and super friendly, the rooms are great, the bed well ITS AMAZING AND SOOOO COMFY, the only downfall in the room is that there was no sweeteners and no biscuits, but it didn't matter you can always ask the staff for those things, I just couldn't be bothered. I also ate in the restaurant and it was amazing. I have also been to functions at this hotel and I've been impressed every time and so reasonably priced for the service provided. the only thing I would ask to change is to have a later check out time of 12pm as I personally think 11am is to early.

Stayed here for business. Pleasantly surprised by the modern decor and comfort of the rooms although it seems all the windows are drafts and chilly on arrival. Put the blind down (only looked out over rooftops anyway) and whacked the heater on full blast and soon warmed up. Bathroom leaves a lot to be desired however. Dated and ground in dirt. Must be on the ‘to do list’ next surely. Food tasty and good value in the bar. Gym exceptionally well equipped and huge as was the pool. Overall would definitely stay again but please sort out the bathrooms!

We came here last Friday for a 40th birthday. It was full of people celebrating birthdays, hen parties works do's etc. It's a good place for these type of parties. The 3 course meal is included in the price which is fairly decent when they are feeding over 200 people. The entertainment is what most go for as it's usually got a theme such as 90s music etc. I would definitely recommend this venue for a works do and we will return.

Very Good - nice room and great access. Needed to sort a previous cancellation which put downer on this stay. This stay was very good though. Very clean, helpful staff, and great location for the event.

We usually have a nice stay at the village Bury but unfortunately it was spoilt this time by the evening meal , we go to use the Leisure facilities have treatments and enjoy a catch up over an evening meal , The meal on this occasion was spoilt by one cold and under cooked by the time I got my meal my friend had finished and had to sit and watch me eat , then it was too late for us to go into the bar instead we had to go straight to our room as it was late , This spoilt our overnight Leisure break 😩

This Village hotel is well located just off Junction 2 of the M66 and is a 20 minutes walk from the centre of Bury along Rochdale Road. There is ample free parking. The hotel frontage is very imposing with its two flights of steps up to the main entrance but carrying suitcases up in the rain is not for the faint hearted. There is no alternative ramped access. Enquiries revealed that there was a lift for the disabled hidden around a corner which led to the front terrace but not to the interior of the hotel. The standard was as usual for a Village hotel. The hotel was good value for money but with the usual inadequacies, in this case a bathroom crying out for some updating and with a cracked basin, uncomfortable pillows and spartan furniture. The breakfast, as usual, was adequate without being entirely satisfying (fresh bread would be appreciated). No use was made of the leisure facilities for which you pay extra. We also did not dine there but there is a pub/restaurant conveniently close by which is recommended.

No soundproofing between rooms. Not great when you have rude neighbours who shout bang doors and swear. Lovely rooms lovely Spa and really nice staff. Don't stay in extension it's freezing cold and a long walk to reception
