Hospice Facebook page reaches milestone
I was a guest at the St Nicholas Hospice last Friday, with the Chamber of Commerce.
They do an amazing job for us!
I then talked about them on Rdaio West Suffolk... They were voted one of the TOP companies to work for locally too, and deservedly so.
St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Facebook page reached – and passed – a milestone on Friday.
The West Suffolk and Thetford Hospice’s social networking page now has 1,000 members who ‘like’ it.
The Facebook page is used as a means of two-way communication between the Hospice and its friends, as a way of relaying clinical messages and for promoting fundraising events and communicating with those who take part.
It promises not to bombard its members with irrelevant updates, instead keeping them informed as and when appropriate.
Recent posts have included an entertaining video of Hospice sumo runners, ahead of a sponsored Sumo Run in Haverhill on 2 May; posts from grateful family members whose relatives have been cared for by the Hospice; and an appeal for experiences of St Nicholas Hospice Care and end-of-life care in general.
“We’re really pleased to have hit the 1,000 mark – but we would still like more members,” said Community Fundraiser Ian Norris.
“If you are on Facebook, search for ‘St Nicholas Hospice Care’ and click ‘Like’. It’s that simple – and you will be kept up-to-date with events at your local Hospice.”
Now what was I telling you about Social Media!!! Powerful stuff
