Volunteers needed to make a difference to your life and to others!

Boost your confidence, improve your chances of getting a job, meet new people and learn new skills by taking up the wide variety of volunteer opportunities available in Bridgend County Borough. BAVO (Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations) are looking for more volunteers of all ages and abilities, offering up to date advice and guidance.

BAVO has over 100 registered voluntary organisations offering a wide range of opportunities. Their  volunteer centre can match your skills and interests with a vacancy that suits you best including office work, conservation, education, and driving.

Ben Upton, aged 20 from Bridgend is a volunteer with the British Heart Foundation furniture and electrical store. Ben says: “

I deal with stock in the warehouse, complete function testing on electrical items to ensure they are safe to use and deal with building items that come in flat packed. I also volunteer two and half hours of my time each week with KPC Youth in Pyle, helping young people in the computer suite.

My volunteering has given me the essential skills to put on my CV to make me more appealing to employers, and I already have job interviews lined up.” Provide a real service to the community as well as getting you out of the house, meeting new people and improving your job prospects.
