THREE Bridgend businesses have been honoured at the South Wales Business Network Awards.
Networking groups BNI, Introbiz and thebestof held the awards, attended by 69 local businesses, at Cardiff’s Grosvenor Casino to say thank you to their top performers of 2011/12.
Thebestof Bridgend, which is an online marketing directory and network that promotes local businesses based on their customers’ feedback, presented the thebestof Bridgend’s Most-Loved Business award to Donna Hunt and the team of Shades Hair Design in Laleston, which had more than 270 reviews.
National awards went to Adriano Fantini of d3signs, who was third in category for UK signwriters, while Andrew O’Leary of SLR Creations won most recommended videographer in the UK.
BNI South Wales, a weekly breakfast network with more than 300 local business members, also presented several awards, including outstanding chapter, best referrer and outstanding contribution awards.
Tracey Jenkins, who runs the teatime network Introbiz which represents more than 200 local business members, also had many representatives supporting the evening.
Ben Rogers of thebestof said the winners are helping small businesses to flourish in difficult economic conditions.
“The evening was an outstanding success and has shown how companies in the SME and micro sector can work together to help boost their profile and in turn benefit their businesses,” he said.
“Small companies are being seen as key to helping the economy recover from its current difficulties, and our winners are proof that good customer service and positive feedback can really help them to flourish and enjoy further success in the future.
“We’d like to thank our sponsors on the night, including our guest speaker Prith Biant, Randell John Photography, CWC Photography, Plain Graffic, Eagle Eye Events, Video4Business.tv and VA Extraordinaire – without whom the event would not have been such a success.”
