19th June 2013

On two successive weekends, Bridgend male choir were in action as part of the Anglo-Welsh Festival of Male Choirs, staged in Birmingham Town Hall on 1st June and St David's Hall, Cardiff on 8th June. Then On 9th June, the choir was delighted to fulfil another annual commitment by singing at the conclusion of Mair's Walk for the Stepping Stones Cancer Charity . We enjoyed excellent weather and an excellent turn-out of walkers, led by the irrepressible Max Boyce. The choral contribution inevitably included a rendering of Hymns and Arias, with, of course, Max giving the solo.

After this busy start to the summer, the choir will enjoy a short break before the engagements continue with another invitation for the choir to sing at the Armed Forces Day in Cooper's Field, Cardiff on Saturday, 29th June 2013. Again, we pray for good weather! On Friday, 5th July at the Cowbridge Leisure Centre , the Bridgend boys will share the stage with the choir of Pendoylan Church in Wales Primary School as well as selected winners of the 2013 Treorchy Eisteddfod in support of Prostate Cymru Charity. We are sure both events will be well supported.
