Porthcawl Elvis Festival 2013
27th September 2013

It's the largest festival of its kind in the world, and brings a huge amount of people to Porthcawl for the weekend. There are different events going on all across Porthcawl, from the bigger events in the Grand Pavilion to the smaller ones in pubs across the town. Whether you appreciate it or not, there definitely is a special atmosphere around town this weekend.

It is a big weekend for Porthcawl tourism, and this event can potentially polarize opinion among the residents. If you're not an Elvis fan, or you don't appreciate large numbers of people, then it is probably best to avoid the town centre this weekend. However if you can't get enough of all things Elvis, come down and immerse yourself in the atmosphere, try and catch a show and enjoy the buzz around town.

One important thing for everyone to consider is this. The massive influx of visitors to Porthcawl will undoubtebly cause traffic problems, so whether you're visiting the festival or travelling elsewhere, allow some extra time for your journeys.

For all of you Elvis fans, come on down and enjoy the weekend. More information can be found here. However if Elvis is really not your thing and you want to avoid the festival, there is plenty more going on around Bridgend County which you might be interested in. Check our local events here.
