When a family has been told that there isn’t a cure for their loved one’s illness, Havens Hospices are there to help by controlling pain and medication, supporting families, offering short breaks and caring for adults, babies, children and teenagers at the end of their lives.

Their specialist care is free, for as long as it is needed, within the home and at their two hospices, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

Little Havens Hospice stands in beautiful meadowland in Thundersley, just outside of Rayleigh in Essex. However long a child needs help the Team work tirelessly to make a difference to their life and it is given with empathy and love. They focus on the individual needs of the children that they care for, 'Making every day count' for those with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses and their families.

How can people help?

By supporting the regular fund-raising efforts, there are sponsored treks along Hadrian’s Wall, and up Ben Nevis, not to mention a Wing Walk atop a Bi Plane! Sponsored swims, Family Runs, the Prudential RideLondon, an Outdoors Family Fun Day and Open Gardens at Rochford all add to the fun and games through which much needed funds are raised.

Every event requires willing sponsors, our excellent local businesses can sponsor events as can individual donors who can attend these fine events and drop a pound or three into the collecting buckets, please.

All of the events are fun days, fun for the family as participants and the supporting observers cheering people on and it is vital that people do give their time and support for the fine work done by this charitable organisation caring for the Children of Brentwood and beyond. Please, get involved today!

For those people who have never joined in wading through a muddy harbour, taken a leap of faith and plunged 10,000 feet in a tandem skydive, or trekked across the globe in one of our overseas challenges then you’ve come to the right place!

Like to take things a little easier and get the whole family involved? Take a look at one of the sponsored walks, runs or bike rides and help them continue ' Making every day count' for the children and adults they care for.
