Very friendly and made to feel very welcome. I also some excellent food which is rare as I'm allergic to lots of things and I was fed and watered very well although the £3 charge on top of the food charge was a little excessive.

Very pleasant hotel, stayed there a couple of weeks ago for my friends birthday party in Westhaugaton. The bar area is very nice and the service was very good. I didn't try the food so cannot comment. I would say though, saying this hotel is in Bolton is stretching borders a tad. It took about thirty mins in a cab from Bolton train station. My room had a full glass wall with a view over the pitch at the ground. No mini bar though.

Booked on line with a reasonable rate, twin room, single occupancy £55.00
Arrived and received a warm greeting and the announcement of a free room upgrade, YIPPEE I thought. It meant I had a double bed and a 'pitchside' view. Imagine this, at 7pm leaving in the morning at 6am.
The room was clean, the view of the pitch blurry in the dusk and the grass being watered.
The bed unfortunately was a fold up into the wall cupboard affair, hardly luxurious. Clearly 'pitchside' means flexibility for match days, not comfort for 'hotel' guests.
Late in the day, room was for sleeping not for sunsets (faced the wrong way anyway)
Took advantage of the Leisure facilities for an hour, it got me out of the room
Took dinner at the nearby retail park, lots of choice of food styles
returning to the room after dark found the security light in the bedroom, presumably there in case of 'matchday or night' evacuations could not be turned off. Asked reception for help. After around 30 minutes and 2 visits it was deemed necessary to relocate me to another room, this was now around 23.15hrs. Initially the room presented the same problem but a little persuasive banging of the light switch resolved the issue.
A noisier room (373 from memory) but eventually sleep was achieved.
Checkout with the 'Night Manager' was a solemn affair, no apology for being inconvenienced, instead a reminder I had received a 'FREE UPGRADE' to pitchside. No consideration or gesture with the room rate, not offer of a free breakfast, or even a coffee.
£55.00 was a reasonable rate, had things been satisfactory - they were not.
Would I stay again, YES, but maybe refuse an upgrade in the hope the beds are more suitable on the non pitchside side.
Working in Bolton and travelling fro Yorkshire I thought I had found, at last, a suitably modern location, with nearby food outlets, with leisure facilities and decent rooms.
Happy to discuss these points with management and to consider a second visit.
Cutting of ones nose to spite the face isn't good for business

Don't want to be too hard here but the beds are hard, pillows hard, no soft ones to choose from. Neck agony next day. Food is good in the bar and the Restaurant manager is a great guy and very professional. Been coming for 11 years and want to be loyal but you need to smarten up the rooms, make the bar cosier, and get good beds and pillows. See Premier Inn's new business model (never thought I would say that). Hope you get it fixed as a good location.

I've stayed here quite a few times whilst on business.
It's in a good location and very handy for the M61.
The rooms are all of a good standard, some look out onto Bolton Wanderers football pitch if that's of interest.
The staff are friendly and well trained.
The lively bar is welcoming.
I have only eaten here once and the standard is good but a very large number of chain eateries are also nearby.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Friendly clean and comfortable, breakfast choice was a bit limited if you didn't want the full English.
Why if I go to the trouble of creating a succinct appraisal which is to the point and easily read do I have to pad it out to 200+ characters, with this additional nonsense just to satisfy some verbose marketing type?
