I have been using this gym for about 5 months and for what it costs, you get what is expected. The equipment is fine, does the job you need it to do and the place is well-maintained.
My only gripe is the payment structure feels convoluted and slightly predatory. I started off paying for the Ultimate +Yanga and quickly realised that I wasn't using it as much as I wanted to so I downgraded to an Off-Peak membership. The transition was easy enough but what they neglected to tell me is that even though I paid for a month ultimate membership 3 days prior, the change will be immediate and I would lose access to what I had paid for, and also got charged a £5 admin fee for something that is seemingly automatic. For a subscription/membership payment model, I feel as if it's a given that if you pay for a month of something, regardless of the changes you make during that month, it shouldn't take effect until the next billing period... Or maybe I expect too much.
I have also been charged more than I should have been on each billing date but credit where credit is due, Customer Service is looking into this for me. The outcome has yet to be determined though.

Excellent gym with a clean and welcoming environment. The equipment is modern, there’s plenty of space to work out, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I really enjoy training here because it’s open for long hours and everything is well maintained. I highly recommend The Gym Group to anyone looking for a great place to achieve their fitness goals. Thank you for providing such an excellent service!

My visit and treatment were absolutely wonderful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My surgeon was experienced and he removed my tooth in about 3 minutes flat. Thank you to everyone

It’s a lovely hotel swimming pool gym facials staff are really helpful especially Michell on reception well done Michell deserves a star
The only downside was the food some uneatable worse than any hotel I’ve been too we ended up going elsewear for our food we did complain the second night needs looking into I had the same sweet two nights one was really good strawberries cream biscuits delicious the second night they forgot the cream and strawberries and only one biscuit

On behalf of a team member at Age UK Bolton: "We had Sushma’s Snacks provide the catering for a work development day and it was splendid. The curry and sides were excellent and as someone who doesn’t eat meat or gluten, it was nice to be able to eat a proper tasty substantial meal instead of a cardboard sandwich. I went back for seconds, thirds and even took some home. Highly recommended."

The swimming pool was a good size.
The rooms were a good size
The coffee/ice-cream shop Unsupervised children in the swimming pool.
The room was hot and there was no fan. The windows were small and could only be opened a few inches.
