In November 2018, masterchefbolton said about Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant
Called in again today as we always do when shopping in Bolton town centre. I had my usual musaka and my wife her usual fish chips & peas and it was superb ! .One thing though we are not happy about,we noted that the board outside said pensioner special.
I asked the reguler waiter what the difference was between fish chips & peas that I had and the fish chips & peas that you could order as a pensioner special ? he said the pensioner special was a smaller potion . I said if that's the case why are you charging pensioners the same price ? he said oh you will have to see the boss about that. Unfortunately the boss was not in so if you read this boss please do something about it ASAP as surely a pensioner special is supposed to be a bit cheaper on account of us pensioners struggling to survive on the basic pension. I have always praised this restaurant over the many years we have been coming here and always thought you were one of the few restaurants in Bolton who gave a discount for OAP's but it looks like we have got it wrong, If this is a genuine error then please correct ASAP. We will be taking note on our next visit planned for next week. Other than that keep up the good work and you are still the best fish & chip restaurant in the N/west never mind Bolton.

Called in here on a very cold Decembers day and a lovely surprise to find the restaurant warm and friendly, My girlfriend said it was the best fish and chips she had ever had and we both loved the ambience with the piano being gently played in the background .
The bill was very reasonable considering the surroundings and the waiter insisted on helping my good lady on with her coat. Old fashioned service which is sadly missing these days

We had two pensioner meal £7:60. Fish is lovely.

We've been coming to the Olympus for many years as it's consistently great. The fish is beautiful and the atmosphere smart and relaxed - upmarket without being pretentious.
The staff are lovely and always make an effort with you. The menu is varied for a chip shop - I'd recommend the home-made moussaka if you're not in the mood for fish. Frederick's ice cream is also available if you have any room left!
One of the nicest additions is that you can listen to a pianist on a grand piano as you eat at certain times... it really is a joy to come here every single time!

We visit Olympus ever now and again and the food is always great, full of flavour. Sometimes chippys have greasy food however Olympus doesn’t! It’s great value for money also. Would recommend!

Looking for somewhere to eat after doing a bit of shopping, we spotted Olympus fish bar, Wow! when we walked through the door we were amazed at how classy this place looked. The fish and chips were delicious, served with mushy peas, side salad and bread and butter. The staff were very friendly and polite. I would highly recommend this place

Food is delicious. Absolutley delicious. Soft barm cakes, chunky chips NOT greasy, with a lovely texture. Latte's lovely (i am fussy regards Latte's).
Relax also to a gentleman who plays the piano. Amazing place.

My wife and me dropped in by pure chance off the bus exchange, and what a great surprise we had !! We were met as we walked in, taken to our table and, when we ordered, the meal was superb. It may have only been Fish n' Chips, but they were cooked to perfection, and the fish was gorgeous, served with nice fresh bread and a pot of tea. My wife is somewaht a conniseur on fish and she was delighted. The waiter/ s were 1st class, very friendly and courteous to everyone who came in and went out, which is nice to see these days. All in all, a great place to eat, anytime I should imagine, but do try and drop in for their fish n' chip lunches. We'll be back next we are in Bolton Mmmmmmmmm !!!
