It was my sisters wedding night and I'd recommended this hotel. They were very disappointed , there was no bottled water in the room and the wifi didn't work. They said they were having trouble with it but no apology . They knew it was there wedding night......just a little thought and care would have made such a difference .

We used to live in the Bolton area, so staying at the Bolton Whites Hotel was something we had never really thought about. However, we no longer live in the area so when a significant birthday event came up we decided we would give it a try.

From the moment we arrived we were made welcome, the reception staff were very helpful, explain some of the facilities and the quirky floor/room numbering, which proved very practical indeed. Rooms on the 2nd floor include rooms starting with both 200 and 300. On exiting the lift you need to go downstairs at the side of the lift, half a floor to get to the rooms starting 200.

The rooms themselves are small but well appointed, with a drawer in the wardrobe containing coffee and tea facilities. The bathrooms are also on the small side but effective, containing a shower over the bath.

The hotel has its own leisure facility containing a swimming pool and gymnasium. You have to get a code to get in from reception though.

Over the weekend a football match between Bolton and Watford took place and the hotel cark is used by visiting fans. Access was straight-forwards as we just informed the car park attendants we were staying at the hotel and they checked their list.

During this football match the accessing the hotel itself also requires you to pass security members, I include these guys in the friendly staff attitude as they were laughing and joking with us but also doing their job effectively, what a refreshing change.

The bar area is quite large and comfortable and despite the match we had no trouble finding somewhere to sit.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this hotel, it was not what I expected and despite being part of the Bolton Wanderers Football Ground it has its own identity and the staff make this a reality.

We stayed here on valentines day, just me and my husband. We arrived just before a match was about to start but was directed to where we could park with staying in the hotel. Check in was quick and easy and was told everything we needed.
Our room was very clean and nice, ironing and trouser press board in the room plus hair dryer. Considering there was a match on we could not here anything from the ground.
We used the gym facilites and the pool, everything was there that we needed.
The hotel is well situated for the cinemas, bowling and restaurants.
The only little problem was in the night we could here everything what the room either side of us were doing. Considering we couldnt here thousands of people at a football game but we could here every noice either side of us was confusing.
Breakfast was well organised. There was pleanty of staff and a choice of full english breakfast, cereal, toast, fruit and juice

I stayed here with one of my boys for a recent Bolton football match, i have to say that i was not let down. Our room had a view onto the pitch so we just watch it from our hotel room, so watching the game and also the tv in the room has sky sports news so could watch that at the same time. For watching footy this is a must, don't get this novelty anywhere else so its a must try. You have to pay £15 per person for the shutters in the room to be opened, thats the only down side to it as thou wouldn't expect to have to pay more after you have bought and paid for your room, but it is some sort of legal thing that you have to.

It is in a great location obviously being inside the stadium, but there is a large retail park about a 5 minute walk max from the hotel. Loads of shops and many different places to eat so you cant go short on that front, we bought drinks and snacks for our room to watch the game there, pretty much anything you want you will get from the retail park.

We did not make use of the hotels facilities like the swimming pool etc, but there is that option if you want it. You get free wifi in the rooms which is good as a lot of other hotels charge you for this.

All the staff were very nice and we had an issue which was resolved very well so i have no problems with this hotel and i will most definitely return here in the near future as we enjoyed it that much.

Victor Meldrew time!
Whilst the bar food tastes very good, Why do I need to eat it off a chopping board. Presentation 10 out of 10. Practicticality 2out of 10.
If you make a burger and you need to put a stick through it to get it to the table what chance have I of eating it without it falling to bits.
Oh hotel is Fantastic and

We stayed here after watching a football match at Bolton Wanderers' magnificent new(ish) stadium, of which the hotel is an integral part. Reception was friendly and efficient, and the public area fairly vibrant with a post match clientele. I visited the sauna and the pool, where I chatted to a Bolton player relaxing after the game.

Our room was comfortable and well designed. We slept well.

Dinner was very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good too. We then indulged in a bit of retail therapy in the very large Tesco Extra nearby.

The hotel is everything a four star hotel should be. We enjoyed our visit and felt well looked after and welcome.

Everything was perfect. We stayed in one of the premier suites which had everything we needed, including full use of the spa facilities. Im a fussy bugger about food but I have say the food at Heathcote's was outstanding. Overall our time here this weekend was brilliant and the service can't be faulted.

Spend one night in a pitch view room prior to a work meeting in the hotel. Room very nice, decent toiletries, comfortable bed, large towels and decent shower. Slight problem with the temperature and I do prefer a window that opens but that's just me.

Breakfast was okay, typical self service buffet, good cooked selection but more fruit would have been nice.

Evening meal was a set menu but was good. Lunch catering was excellent, good choice and plentiful. Easily the best hotel in Bolton

The main attraction of this hotel is the staff, helpful, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. We stayed just for the one night in a pitch-side room (the hotel is part of the Bolton Wanderers stadium) and fully enjoyed our stay. The room was spotless, although a little tlc should be applied about the place as there were silly little things askew that picky travellers will pick up on, like bits of silver missing on the picture frames. The hotel was very busy as we had been to a ball, and when we got down to breakfast about 9.30, and they looked like they were struggling a bit. However, the staff service remained helpful and friendly. We would stay here again.
