On first impressions the hotel looks good, lovely area and impressive reception, unfortunately once you get inside, this declines.

The decor is dated and rough around the edges, we’d requested a travel cot with the booking and had confirmation of this before arrival. When asking upon check in, we were told it had not been requested but housekeeping would get one brought up. This didn’t happen so we requested again from reception an hour later and they said someone would be bringing it. 2 hours later (3 hours after check in) it still hadn’t arrived, when requested again at reception, we were told it was included on the original booking and it must have been missed and that someone would be bringing it up shortly. Nearly 4 hours later with an exhausted baby, the cot finally arrived!

The facilities in the room were very basic, comfortable beds but very small and rough towels. There are tea and coffee making facilities but we were only given one “every day” teabag throughout the entirety of our stay. Other than make the beds, not sure what the housekeeping team do as they hadn’t cleaned or even emptied the bathroom bin which wasn’t great when we had a baby with us and nappies to dispose of!

We’d booked the hotel so that our children could enjoy the pool, this was an absolute let down. Freezing cold and far too busy. Our baby couldn’t stay in for more than 5 minutes without turning blue and our older child didn’t want to stay much longer. You’re asked to book between 1pm-7pm which would be fine if this meant the pool wasn’t that busy, but there seems to be no limit to the amount of people admitted entry and it’s frustrating when those who are not guests at the hotel and just spa members can come and go as they please without having to book. The pool is split in 2, one side for families and the other for lane swimming but we often found the lane swimmers to be using the family area meaning there was no space.

We chose to eat in the pub on our first night there, took us ages to get served at the bar and then even longer for the food to arrive. The food was nice, but we’d ordered the kids 2 course meal for our child and then ordered an adult dessert retrospectively, the adult desert came before the child’s and we had to ask 3 times for it before it got brought out after everyone else had finished their meal. We also had to ask the waiter for spoons and he came back with latte spoons saying they were the only ones he had!

Breakfast was average, the continental options all tasted a bit stale, the coffee was always like warm at best and the hot options were just basic, very greasy and not high quality ingredients.

Wouldn’t say that we’d had a stand out experience with any of the members of staff, they were always pleasant but didn’t seem to want to go above and beyond to make your experience one to remember.

We definitely won’t be back again, it wasn’t bad value for the price but we’ve had better stays at budget hotels

Well my idea of the last drop village was in the wilds of Lancashire overlooking hills. It couldn’t be farther from the truth. It was originally a farm. The owner made a hotel, shops, pub, bakery and village centre. It is now a huge hotel and the infinity pool overlooks a housing estate!! The hotel has a restaurant and bar area for visitors to use. The 3 shops is now one gift shop. The lady behind the counter was very friendly. The bakery is now a coffee shop. There is a hairdressers, pub, bridal shop and on our visit a ceramic painting session.

Went to stay at last drop for a couple of nights as we got married there and we went right between our anniversary and Valentine’s Day.

Check in was quick and efficient despite there being a queue, everyone was quickly seen to.

Our room was lovely but a little dusty in places and had a stain on the sofa. Bed was comfy and large (just be wary of putting the radiators on as we did anticipating it being cold in February and turned our room in to a sauna haha).

The drop inn was fabulous as always, we ate here both nights and the staff were attentive and friendly. The bar in the hotel also served lovely food (highly recommend the Cumberland sausage and mash). Breakfast was spot on for us, ordered only the items we wanted so no waste of food as some places will serve you a full English automatically which would be wasted on us.

We visited the pool (unable to use the spa as we had our toddler with us and they’re only allowed in the pool area). The pool heater had broken which meant we got in and straight back out because it was baltic in there and my son was instantly shivering. Would have been nice for staff to inform us of this as they greeted us at the spa reception.

There’s a little bakery that’s opened up since we last came, which was lovely. We grabbed a couple rolls from there and a drink.

We also visited the toy shop and purchased my son a couple of books. The toys were really cute in there and the lady in there was friendly too.

Overall we left feeling happy and looking forward to coming again at some point. The Last Drop is so special to us and its beauty never fails to make us feel relaxed and content while visiting.

Lovely, relaxing night away. All staff were welcoming and friendly and everywhere was super clean. The food was all really tasty and hot. It's a shame the new houses along the driveway have been built but the moors at the rear of the hotel are beautiful

Lovely little spa stay for a belated birthday celebration. Spa and massage fab and bar meal. With excellent staff at the bar. Jess went above and beyond. She really did try and give us the best experience she is a credit to any employer. I would visit again just for her service!!!!

Travelled up from Bristol to visit family and chose The Last Drop to be central to them. Arrived at 1.50 so we were asked to come back at 2pm. By then the queue was snaked around reception. Room not ready at 2.10, then again at 2.45. Eventually got checked in at 3.10pm. Room was clean in parts, but dated. Evidence of ceiling leak above bed/TV and the net curtains were shockingly dirty behind the curtains. No standard tea provided - just fruit stuff.
The beds were fine and we slept fairly well. The pool and spa area needs updating. None of the showers sit in their cradles and the floor was meh. The spa was nice, and the infinity pool was lovely..... BUT the info board on the spa wall that celebrates the views of the rolling countryside was clearly printed before they built the housing estate now directly opposite (notice all of the stock photos are looking in, not out). Thankfully none of the neighbours ventured on to their balcony in their nightie, or it could have been quite awkward. The car park was rammed, and we struggled to park each time. Although there was a wedding on the Sunday, so perhaps that was why.
I'm still not quite sure what the 'Village' part is about, as I took a walk (quite late) both mornings, and all the doors were shut. It reminded me of a Wild West movie where everyone is hiding from the Cowboys. The staff in the bar were lovely. The food was nice. We had pizza and truffle fries one night, and their breakfast bacon rolls were superb. Would I go again? Possibly. It was a really good location and if all I wanted was bed and breakfast and a swim, then great. If you're looking for a little bit of a luxury break, then I'm not so sure this is for you.

We were a family of four visiting family for our stay for one night. On arrival at the hotel after 6pm we found no parking so had to drive around the very back which is quite a walk with luggage.
Checking in was smooth, we reached our room and found one of the children's beds hadn't been made up so we contacted housekeeping and they came straight up to sort it out.
The room was clean, 2 slippers/2 gowns provided plus toiletries and refreshments.
The bath itself was a little dirty so we gave it a clean ourselves before any of us got to use it.
The hotel walls aren't great can here everything talking, other people's alarms going off, which disturbed some of us lighter sleepers. Pillows well the hotel could do with some decent pillows.
Late check out though was ideal didn't have to rush.
Breakfast was ok tasted nice and filling, good choices, but there was dirty cutlery on the floor under our table.
Check out again was smooth and we browsed in one of the village shops before heading to see family.

My partner and I got married here in January 2025 and I can honestly say that it couldn’t have been more perfect. Jaqueline and the team were there through all our ridiculousness, inflatable trex antics, cake made of wheel of cheese coordination, 100s of questions, pranks on the groom and were the best support we could have asked for. Our untraditional - traditional wedding was more that we could have imagined, and Jaqueline (the ultimate hype girl) was there for us every step of the way! I would get married to my husband here again 100 times over! I will also add that we had the best night sleep too, the beds are like clouds and the suite we stayed in was perfect for our hectic morning! I can’t thank the staff at the last drop enough for how much they provided for our wedding!

After looking at some of the recent reviews, I was very apprehensive about my stay, but I needn’t have been worried. Yes, the rooms are a little dated, but I found the room clean and all the amenities you would expect. Although we did have to turn the radiator on as it was a little cold.
We visited the spa, which was OK, just a little basic, but they do have beds to lounge on whilst reading a book.

We didn’t go into the thermal suite due to the number of people there, but it looked OK.

The food at the Last Drop Inn was really good. It also had lots of board games, dart boards etc. (if you are taking children with you.)
Breakfast in the Courtyard restaurant was also great with a good continental selection. The service was perfect and fast.
Overall, for the money, it was a really nice stay.

Lovely hotel and beautiful room, we stayed in one of the executive rooms. Very quiet and bed was very comfy.

Spa facilities were excellent and made the stay even better.

There was a lot of choice for breakfast and it was very good.
Would consider staying again.
