I must admit to being an amateur critic of Fish n Chip meals. You see privately, I always buy my raw fish from Fleetwood dockside and you cannot get fresher than that unless you’re the fisherman. So I enjoy freshly caught pure white Cod with lightly battered coating and no fat or oil spoiling the effect. Potato’s as we all know can vary, but the perfect spud is fluffy inside and crispy outside and hot.
I’ve eaten this meal all over the UK and rate my favourites out of ten. 10/10 is perfection in my view. Some time ago I reviewed Curley’s in Horwich, a definite 10/10. This weekend I travelled to Bolton town centre to eat at Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant. I’d been there before, some ten years ago on the way to the Octagon theatre. So this time with my family I decided to repeat the experience.
The whole experience of this restaurant is wonderful, great staff welcome you, table and chairs very clean and comfortable even though it’s one of the biggest dining rooms I ever been in. The menu is vast, prices vary on size of fish, but all are cooked to perfection and very fresh with no sitting in heated cabinets waiting for the customer to order.
The meal was a definite 10/10 as was the dining experience. They even have a black Grand Piano. Staff came over more than once to check everything was okay, they actually made the outing great.
Expect to pay about £8 to £12 depending on your appetite, but believe me you’ll forget the price when you taste the food.
Trying not to poke my nose into other customer’s choices, the Steak puddings look good, also the Ham salads. They even open early for breakfasts in their Orangey room. Luckily for my weight and figure, I live twenty miles away.

A high quality experience, old fashioned service, a member of staff opens the door to let you in, shows you to a table, the staff are well mannered, while you dine there is a pianist on a baby grand playing popular music quietly, very relaxing, the food is good, not too dear, the moussaka is made by the owners mother, who has made it that way for 30 years, it is good, overall a proper fish and chip restaurant!

I an all of the members of the taxi over 50's club would like to say thank you for a wonderful meal fish chips mushy peas on Friday 20/04/2018 the fish was white fresh crispy chips lovely mushy peas you even done poached salmon for one of our group and sausage for a lady that does not eat fish a big thank you to ali and all the server's you really made are day out one to remember a big thumbs up will see you again soon

For a restaurant to be quoted as fantastic it needs to excel in all aspects, not just first class food. Cleanliness, brilliant service, value for money and certainly polite, happy and helpful staff is an absolute must. Having been to Olympus for a great many years, I can quite honestly say that it provides all of the above to standards that most others can only dream of. From the initial greeting when you arrive, through the excellent service and food, to the smiles and goodbyes when you leave. Keep it up Tasos and all of the staff.

The food in here is well made and served quickly. However, I find fish and chips <whisper>a bit boring</whisper> so this isn't really the place for me. Everyone in our party enjoyed it.

My husband and I took a coach party of 58 over-50s to this restaurant for lunch. It was very full but our places had been reserved. We were welcomed by the proprietor and ushered to our tables. We had a two course lunch of Fish and Chips and mushy peas and choice of three desserts. Every one of our people declared it was the best fish and chips they had tasted. It was crispy and non greasy as well as lovely and hot. The desserts were obviously home made and delicious. Bread and butter was served with the meal and afterwards we had a choice of tea or coffee. Two of our people asked for fish with very thin batter and their request was granted without a problem. We were made to feel like honoured guests although there must have been upwards of 80 other people in the very large and beautifully furnished restaurant. An added bonus was the grand piano, played whilst we were there by a lovely man. Thanks for a great day out, Olympus.

Great to visit either in the restaurant or in the take away on the size. Good quality fish and chips. Never had any issues and be staff are always friendly. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and sometimes they have a piano player! Great offers too if your a pensioner.

Nothing beats a post theatre supper at Olympus Chippy. Tasty fish and chips,mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea accompanied by live music played on a grand piano. A traditional menu but I recommend pensioners special/ just enough option. The team are very friendly and give everyone a warm welcome.

We had lunch here today chose the pensioner's menu as we qualify for that it was nice just fish&chips or meat pudding and chips with bread&butter and cups of tea or coffee this seems to be a family run business it's spotless good service and beautiful toilets which is always an added bonus for me. We would go again it was reasonable in price as well.
