I stayed here as a guest last month because of the newly renovated rooms. They were delightful!! fluffy duvets, total darkness and superb linens. Best nights sleep in months. The rooms service was really excellent with hot delicious food served on a lovely big tray. the spa is so very wonderful you wont want to leave the open to the air pool!

My family and myself stayed over after a wedding, the room was lovely, more than enough towels for a family of 4, the beds were great comfy and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and with a constant flow of fresh coffee and toast.. We didn't have chance to use the spa facilities but gives us another reason to go back.. Staff were very helpful and polite.. Thank you

I felt this place was very average and I have stayed in much nicer places for less money. There was only 1 set of towels in the room on arrival and one of the bedside lamps did not work. Credit to the staff on reception who dealt with both very quickly and efficiently. What the hotel room lacked was made up by the nice staff. Our room was at the end of a corridor next to a room that had a fan going all night which we could hear in our room so neither of us had a good nights sleep. The duty manager in the morning was going to look into it but too late for us. We arrived late and had we arrived earlier we may have been inclined to mention it and get our room changed but we were too tired and wrongly expected the noise to go away after 11 pm. Sorry but we won't stay there again.

The hotel was nice, although the room we stayed in was quite tired, and a few bits of damage were evident, the restaurant and bar were really nice, albeit slightly cold and lacked any heating, once the live pianist finished there was no other form of music and the atmosphere fell flat. The tea room seem quite unorganised and lacked the same professional feel and service to the rest of the hotel, the spa was amazing and the treatments really helped us relax, all in all we had a good stay and would definitely return,

Beer festival was a little poor. Not particularly cheap, too corporate an atmosphere, no outside seating, and quite a small range given the size of the room. Not awful, but probably the worst beer festival I've been to. Live music was definitely too loud for the size of room and number of people, and the acts not well chosen. Facilities generally good though, and plenty of parking, just maybe not most appropriate venue for that type of event.

Absolutely lovely service. Very friendly staff. Booked spa deal from spabreaks and worth every penny. We had a full body massage and it was excellent! It really sorted out my troubled back. The spa is lovely and the pool is divine! Cant wait to go back.

Beautiful location and rooms, with a large expanse of space available for events. Only slightly let down by below average food and rather dingy lighting (being a Cinematographer this may be just me). All in all you can do far worse, albeit I cannot speak for the parts of the hotel I did not visit.

Stopped in for a bite to eat as I was in the area. Food was good and service was great, but it does come at a price. At least Turpin wore a mask.The bar restaurant looks nice enough on the surface, but a closer inspection shows water stains above the bar and tins of paint sort of hidden away. I don't think I'll be rushing back just for the food and service...

Went to a works Christmas do. The food was excellent and the entertainment and music was also very good. We all had a fantastic night. Would recommend to others looking for somewhere to have there works Christmas party.

Lovely helpfull staff very professional nice room although the Windows had a big gap around so them so was quite cold in the room food at the resturant was lovely and breakfast was nice overall really enjoyed the stay but needs a few little repairs to the rooms

Had a fantastic evening at the Birtenshaw event. Brilliant food, great entertainment, and the bar prices were quite reasonable. Would happily attend another event here.
