All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lounge area is nice with Scandinavian touch. The only thing is that my room's air conditioner didn't work, phone to call reception wasn't working. Bath tub was orangey, it was obvious that it hasn't been cleaned properly for quite some time. So I booked a King room with nice bathrobe but couldn't take a bath. Hook of the bathroom door was gone so I had to put everything by the sink.
But lovely staff made me not want to leave a bad review.

Read a previosue review that the car park is limited and if you arrive when its full you have to park over the road and move the vehicle before 9am. Friendly reception staff explained that they had two functions on and it may be a little noisy. Well at 10 pm the bar was full or screeming kids run around. That propably because the hotel has a kids stay free policy. The "functions" see to have a Bhangra Band playing and they went on till 1am. We notice that they was avery limited supply of tea and coffee so we asked could we have some hot chocolate sachets as we headed to bed. We were told it would be sent up but it never arrived. Room and Bathroom were nice but a little dated. The selfservice breakfast was ok but only once choice of eggs and queue for the ONE hot drinks machine on both morning.

Stayed one night whilst attending a wedding at the same venue. We aren’t local, so travelled to Bolton in good time for the wedding. We went to reception to book in and as we were guests at the wedding had hoped that at 12-30 our room would be available. However it wasn’t. This meant that we had to find other guests who had stayed the previous night and where we could get changed. Our room wasn’t available until after the wedding ceremony.
Having said that, the room was comfortable, shower was excellent, breakfast was self service and plentiful. The meal at the wedding was delicious.
We were happy with the price paid, but thought staff would have a little discretion about letting us access our room.

The staff are very friendly happy and helpful. Check-in fast. Unfortunately the interior of the rooms needs attention! Curtains look like taken out of dirty linen basket and hung up. Bed whilst v comfortable had a duvet cover with permanent stains on both sides. The bath, whilst probably clean - was very old and discoloured and bath panel ragged and ill-fitting. Wash basin had white tape covering some cracks (disgusting really!). Bathroom very cramped and overall poor. We expected better. Breakfast very good and all freshly served. Only there one night and I have to say - great value for money. Staff very helpful.

The room was comfortable as was the wide bed. It was a bit dull as there were no ceiling lights and the bulb in the lamp standard was missing. I only noticed this when I put my hand under the lampshade to find the switch and nearly stuck my finger in the live light socket! The bulb was replaced immediately. The breakfast is self service and the staff on duty rather eager to clear away your half finished drinks when you go to get more food. The evening menu is good although they muddled the starter serving prawn cocktail rather than tiger prawns!

All in all it’s comfortable and friendly but could do better.

Location great but the rooms seem very tired. We were there only for one night and would only go back because of the location. Staff are very polite and couldn't fault them. If they updated the rooms this hotel would be amazing.

This hotel is beginning to feel a little more like, home from home. I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and always enjoy the chance to return and enjoy the facilities which it as to offer plus it's location to Bolton city center. Plenty of parking from both an underground car park and an open one next to the hotel. The hotel rooms and bathrooms are very quiet, clean and the beds are very comfortable plus not forgetting the choice of soft or firm pillows really makes staying here a pleasant one. Free internet and a gym to work off the fantastic breakfast they offer is always a good way of starting the day. The view from some of the windows is not fantastic but the level of service makes up for that.

Stayed at the hotel for one night, on check in we were told that our room would be 2 separate rooms, however i had booked interconnecting rooms having twin boys with us too. Staff were accommodating and found us the room we had booked after i had mentioned i had spoken to a lady the evening before to double check our booking. Our room was clean and just what we needed for the one night. Bathrooms were clean and the room was nice. The location is very central and so perfect if you there for a night out. We were attending a wedding at the hotel. Breakfast was also very nice, although the coffee machine ran out of coffee and the juice machine was dispensing a watery sort of orange juice. Other than that overall a great hotel.

Stayed here several times in August/September for business. Found the hotel to be in a good central location, short walk to the city centre. The rooms I stayed in were all clean and had everything I needed. the only issue I had was one or two of the rooms I stayed in had a noisy fan in the bathroom that seemed to remain on permanently. the staff were really friendly and helpful - I dropped a pendant into the sink and they retrieved it for me very quickly. The car park is quite tight, but I never had any trouble finding a space.

My partner & I stayed at the Holiday Inn as we were meeting friends in Egerton for dinner.
The hotel is ideally located just off the A666.

The entrance to the hotel is appealing and staff extremely friendly. We were lucky to be given an executive room.

On entering the room you immediately realise the hotel is rather tired with a rather dated bathroom and grey net curtains.
The room was also uncomfortably warm and whilst it did have air con it was not as functional as it should have been. The window would not open which did not help the situation.

To be honest, we paid a very good rate for the stay, had I paid the rack/normal rate I would have been disappointed.

Overall a functional hotel, lovely staff and could be so much more with investment.

Restaurant evening menu expensive for what it was, plus small serving's.
Breakfast's was good, a good selection of food, except for coffee machine out of order.
The bedroom wasn't as warm as we wanted it to be, It was Constantly around 21c
and wouldn't reach the limit of 23c .

Stayed here one night . Bed comfy , reception staff lovely . Clean good budget hotel . Onsite parking . Breakfast basic but ok . Really good location for town , walking distance which was a result as getting the car out of the underground parking wasn’t the easiest

Checked in by Vicky and made to feel very welcome.
Very clean room, good breakfast and evening meal.
The underground car park is a bonus although can be difficult to navigate as it has many pillars.
The gym is bigger than normal and well set up.

Stayed only one night, good price direct using our IHG club membership good rate incl breakfast. Decided on room service unusual for me, only a sandwich, very nice, crisps, coleslaw, £6.25 + a small service charge. Room, big enough, clean, nice towels, TV, tea and coffee etc and given we are just outside the main town very quiet. Good breakfast given the price good value. So if on a night out, wedding, business it is good

I gave it 4 stars because its a holiday inn... and not a 4/5 star hotel in London or New York. For a Holiday Inn it is pretty good and one of the better ones.

I have been staying in this Holiday Inn for total about 1 weeks worth? Every time we are in Bolton we book in here. So far the staff have been quite polite and friendly.

Advice: Make sure to book the rooms WITH breakfast (not in room breakfast!) otherwise you'll have to fork out almost 14 pound per person for breakfast... (we paid 40 pound for breakfast for 3 people).

It's a great place to rest after travelling. The bathroom is standard, always has clean towels and 3 shower gels: One for bath one for hair and then conditioner. Always has extra toilet roll and extra towels in the desk plus tea and biscuit as standard in the kettle. The bed is clean and comfortable and they have a trouser press plus air conditioning,

They have a banqueting hall and gym? As i have seen weddings or functions being take place there. There is a car park underground and another car park at the back. The underground carpark might be quite tricky to part in as the slots are close and theres quite a fair bit of foundation pillars. There is disabled access here with lifts + stairs.

On request an iron plus board can be provided and they do room service. The staff were pleasant all times we have been and the breakfast staff have been nice and polite.

Overall a good holiday inn.

Not the best town but has some stunning architecture and some rank, should sack the planners, stuff. The HI Bolton is comfortable accessible and provides all the amenities you should expect from a HI. Dinner and breakfast was pleasant, the staff at dinner (Jade) was personable and funnily cheeky.
Gym a little small but adequate given the size of hotel and people!

Went for a gala meal for a local society. The party was 240 strong but everything was well cooked and quick. Staff were very friendly. The main course was lamb with a sort of cheese pie as an alternative. There were no complaints on the night.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a friend's wedding 18th August. Visited the hotel previously for different functions but never overnight. We had a brilliant time. The staff were incredible and nothing was too much trouble for them in making us feel at home, they even give you a choice of 4 different types of pillows 😊 Bed was very comfy with very clean sheets. Shower was powerful and nice and hot. Had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant on the eve of the wedding which was very nice and reasonably priced. Breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel. Whatever you wanted, they had! All you can eat buffet style full English, with cereals, croissants, fresh fruits, yoghurt etc. Not a complaint to be made. Wedding was brilliant, everything as it should have been....was a very happy day. Staff very attentive throughout, with a special shoutout to Connor our server, who provided me with my cuppa after my I'd drunk the table wine provided and just needed that brew fix before the evening celebrations commenced! Would very happily stay here again, even though we only live down the road haha 😂 Well worth it!

This was the second time I've stayed at the Holiday Inn whilst visiting friends.

Hotel is in an ideal location, right in city centre, close to bars, restaurants, takeaways and shops.

Hotel has free car parking. Check in was quick. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and room was cleaned each day.

We were advised about a breakfast offer on check in which was 2 breakfasts for 15 pound which was great value for money. All you can eat self service with cooked options, toast, pastries, cereals, fruit etc

We drank in the hotel bar on the first night which was comfortable and quiet. Drinks are quite pricey but there was a good selection. Although we didn't eat here the menu was good and good reasonably priced.

We would definitely return when back in area.

Driving into the hotel car park? If you have large vehicle go right into the overground car park, I drive an SUV and the tight turn into the lower car park is very tight. Once I had got a good space I left my car there for the duration of the stay. Its just a short walk to the town centre.
Reception was quiet on our arrival and we were thankful we had missed the coach that arrived shortly after. Our room was clean and tidy with tea and coffee facilities which we needed after a long journey
Breakfast was busy but the buffet was continually filled up so nothing ran out for long
All the team were nice and friendly
