It has been four years since the last one but the Northgate Summer Ball is back!

Get your gladrags on because this Saturday is the Northgate Summer Ball!

Northgate Primary School Association is hosting this glamorous event that will be taking place in a lovely marquee in the grounds of the school in Bishop’s Stortford. Starting at 7pm with a Bucks Fizz and Canapés Reception, guests will be thoroughly amused by local close-up entertainer, Martin Cox, before sitting down to a sumptuous three course meal.

Following dinner, the Kings of Wah will be providing live music to boogie to until midnight, and if anyone is left standing (certainly not me – the Bucks Fizz alone would probably floor me!) there will be a disco provided by Justin Leader until carriages at 1am.

A particular highlight of the Northgate Summer Ball will be the fundraising auction, which has seen a variety of wonderful items and experiences being kindly donated by both parents and generous sponsors. These include:

Two hunky gardeners ready and raring to do two days’ hard work in the highest bidder’s garden, which has been generously donated by Mark Stradling at Mark’s Garden Services – thebestof Bishop’s Stortford member and recipient of Bishop’s Stortford’s ‘Most Loved Business’ award. Mark also recently built the new wildlife pond at Northgate Primary School, so this kind donation is much appreciated.

The opportunity to meet England cricketing legend, Darren Gough and have a personal tour around Talksport Radio, which has been arranged by parent, Peter Fowke at Dataquest.

The chance to ride in the front of a tube train! This is an absolute must for all you budding train drivers and speed freaks, kindly donated by Matthew Francis at London Underground.

Four front row tickets for the Christmas Nativity Plays... and let’s face it, there won’t be a dry eye in the house!
