The mental health charity, Arts All Over The Place (Registered Charity: 1178638), have put a call out for artwork and poems for the "You Are Not Alone" Arts & Mental Health Community Festival and Exhibition. They have been providing community arts projects and exhibitions with community engagement events for adults with mental health issues since 2007.
"We are proud to announce that we will be holding our annual arts exhibition and festival from the 6th - 10th October 2021" said Rachel Charlotte Green from the charity. "We are excited as this will be based in the centre of Moseley Village at "Mosley Hive" (the old pizza Express on the Alcester Road, B13 8DD).
We will have an array of exciting and meaningful health and wellbeing creative workshops, symposiums and entertainment at this free event! If you have experienced mental ill health and are creative then we would love to hear from you!"
The poems can be on any subject and the theme for National Poetry Day (October 7th) in 2021 is choice. Poems must be the author`s own work and not previously submitted to Arts All Over The Place. Poems should be emailed, preferably in WORD, to artsallovertheplace@yahoo.co.uk before 1st October 2021.
All contributors of art and poetry must be a member of Arts All Over The Place, a registered charity, and it is free to join. Contributors should live in the West Midlands and have connections with the mental health community. A membership form can be found on the website www.artsallovertheplace.org.uk.
"We will have poems displayed during the Festival" said Rachel "from 6th - 10th October. We will print a selection of poems for display and may use some lines on the poetry trail with poems displayed on lamp posts to show the way and to raise awareness."
Poems will be collected in a booklet at a later date which will be sold to cover costs. Poets get a free booklet each.
