Unity Trust Bank has announced the recipients of its annual £50,000 Impact Grants programme.

Nearly 200 grant applications were received this year from Unity customers across a range of sectors in the UK.

Ten socially-minded organisations, each receiving £5,000, were chosen by a panel of judges.

The successful recipients are:

• Break The Silence supports people who have been affected by childhood sexual trauma in East and North Ayrshire.
• Green Futures in Grimsby provides horticultural and craft-based activities to improve health and well-being and increase employability.
• In Your Space Circus, a performance company, promotes good mental and physical health and social development across Derry-Londonderry.
• North Sea Conservation works with fishing communities to boost marine life, safeguard the natural environment and protect maritime heritage.
• Orange Bow CIC supports NEET young people in London who face barriers such as exclusion and neurodiversity.
• Canley Community Centre in Coventry provides a welcoming, safe and accessible space for disadvantaged residents.
• Twisting Ducks Theatre Company in the north east gives people with a learning disability and autistic people the chance to create theatre, film and music.
• Women’s Aid Luton helps women and children escape domestic violence by offering accommodation and support.
• Birmingham PlayCare Network improves the lives of children, young people and families through creative play and practical support.
• Health Psychology Management Organisation Services helps people in London with long term health conditions to improve their quality of life and employability.

Joshua Meek, Chief Impact Officer at Unity Trust Bank, said: “We launched Unity Impact Grants last year to mark our 40th birthday and this year we doubled the amount of grant funding to £50,000.

“We were highly impressed by the quality of applications from our customers and we are proud to support the 10 successful applicants because they are all providing such vital services in their communities.

“As a social impact bank we are committed to delivering inclusive growth in communities across the UK, that's why the Impact Grants programme aims to support customers with funding they need.

“We will continue to build on this momentum to support our customers in making a positive difference.”

The Unity Impact Grant programme is part of the bank’s employee-led ‘Unity & Me’ pillar which empowers staff to deliver positive outcomes for colleagues, communities and the planet.

As well as the £50,000 grants programme, Unity has also awarded £30,000 to good causes in 2025, through fundraising, volunteering and charitable donations.

Ryan Bakare, Head Assessor at Organise Bow CIC, said: “The Unity Impact Grant means young people in our community will have real opportunities to build skills, confidence and futures they can be proud of.”

Joe Redfern, General Manager at North Sea Conservation, said: “Unity’s funding will help the team release even more juvenile lobsters back into local waters while expanding vital education work around native marine life, fishing heritage, and the role of the hatchery in supporting sustainable coastal communities."
