Built From Grit

I’ve walked through fire with steady feet,
Through doubt that told me I’d face defeat.

Three little hearts have watched me stand,
Through sleepless nights and plans unplanned.

I’ve carried dreams in one worn hand,
While guiding theirs to safer land.
With tired eyes but vision clear,
I chose persistence over fear.

They said the road would break my will,
That I should learn to just stand still.

But something deep inside me knew,
That strength is built by pushing through.

I’ve dried my tears before the dawn,
Then faced the day and carried on.
Packed hope in bags with love and care,
And whispered courage through the air.

Three little souls have seen me fight,
Have watched me turn the dark to light.
They’ve seen me fall, then rise again,
With stronger heart and steadier pen.

For every door that would not bend,
I built my own way through the end.
For every voice that said I’d quit,
I answered back with quiet grit.

I am the proof that storms can pass,
That pressure turns the coal to glass.
That every step through doubt and strain,
Can grow a strength we can’t contain.

My children see what courage means,
In messy days and in-betweens.
They see that dreams are worth the climb,
Though progress comes one step at a time.

I did not wait for life to ease I grew my strength on wounded knees.
I learned from every loss and bruise.
And now I stand with strength I choose.

Still rising, still becoming, still moving on.

I wonder where this journey carries on.
