
Led by The Rep’s Creative Learning team, young people will work together to make a Play in a Week.
They will also explore storytelling using puppets, music and their own imaginations.
Meanwhile, the popular Spy School gives young people the chance to become secret agents for a week.
There is also a weeklong intensive acting course for 16- 25 year olds, with workshops led by professional theatre-makers.
Rachel Sharpe, Birmingham Rep creative learning director, said: “Our summer programme has something for everyone, whether you're discovering theatre for the first time or taking the next step towards a career in the arts.
“From imaginative adventures and creative storytelling to intensive acting workshops with industry professionals, every activity is designed to be fun, build confidence and inspire creativity.
“As a professional producing theatre, we're proud to give young people the chance to create, learn and perform in a real working theatre, developing skills, making new friends and opening the door to future opportunities in the arts.”
Play in a Week takes place from Monday 20 to Friday 24 July, running daily from 10am to 3pm for children aged 7 to 12. The event is currently sold out, but those interested are encouraged to contact the Box Office to enquire about returns.
Participants will spend the week making theatre at Birmingham Rep through games, storytelling and creative activities. Led by professional theatre directors, they will work together to create an original play while developing new acting skills.
Advanced Play in a Week also runs from Monday 20 to Friday 24 July, from 10.30am to 5pm, and is aimed at young people aged 13 to 19. Places cost £95, with bursaries available.
The week-long intensive programme gives participants the chance to experience the pace and focus of a professional rehearsal room.
Spy School runs from Monday 27 to Friday 31 July, from 10am to 3pm, with two separate week-long events for children aged 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. Places cost £95, with bursaries available.
The immersive theatre mission invites young people to become secret agents for the week, cracking codes, solving puzzles and working together to save the world before home time on Friday.
Early Years Summer Sessions take place on Monday 20 and Monday 27 July 2026, from 10am to 2pm, for children aged 3 to 5. Sessions cost £15 each or £25 for both.
Creative Story Explorers runs on Monday 3 August and Monday 10 August, from 10am to 2pm, for children aged 6 to 8. Places cost £15 per session.
Intensive Acting Course takes place from Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 August, running from 10.30am to 5pm for young people aged 16 to 25. The course costs £100, with bursaries available.
