The White Card begins around a dinner table as a social setting , sharing natural conversations with a white family .   Then these conversations turn to race and racism and therein begins, hypocrisy, table turning , blurred lines , and the need to be heard and understood. Matthew Pidgeons portrayal of Charles brilliantly takes us on a journey of narcissism,  contradictions and underlined ‘whiteness’ of ego massaging  , and attempting to link power and privilege for the purpose of maintaining an unjust social hierarchy.   The White Card will make you question thought processes and hopefully help you understand why being white means both culturally and historically contextually.   This wonderfully written play will open conversations and aid with understandings.   Some dialogue raised gasps and reactions from the audience as all strong plays do.    We live in a multi cultural country and this play will heslp you see the underlying racial tensions that exist in society.
