The Anawim Pre-Loved Clothes Hub is Opening!
3rd October 2025

We are delighted to announce that our brand-new purpose built pre-loved clothes hub is opening on Wednesday the 8th of October! The opening, from 1-4pm, also marks the start of Big Give week, when we are aiming to raise (and have match funded) £5000. The hub will serve as a partial replacement for our much-loved Moseley shop, and hopefully more.   Our brand-new hub is onsite at the main Anawim centre in Balsall Heath, ideally situated to help us provide extra assistance to any women who come into Anawim. Sitting next to our drop-in service (used by more than 500 women every year) it is an inviting and comfortable space, from which women will be able to pick, try on, and take home clothes.   The hub will also be open to the public as a clothes shop (women’s only) four days a week from 12-3pm. This means the donations we so generously receive will continue to support our fundraising efforts. It will also support our social enterprise schemes, and our women in their pathways into work. Champions (Anawim women) and volunteers will contribute to daily tasks, learning about online and in-person sales, and bringing new ideas and perspectives.   For our women it will offer an opportunity to shop with dignity, while learning about the other specialist services that Anawim has to offer. We hope this peaceful space – where there is the chance to sit with someone – will mean that if more support is needed, we can easily provide it. It may also provide a new route for women in our community to access Anawim, without having a “reason” to come to the centre.   Tina Hindocha – Volunteer Coordinator said: “Our Pre-loved Boutique in Moseley put new people in contact with Anawim, and raised awareness of our mission. It also often provided a drop-in for women in crisis, whether needing clothes or our services. We hope the new hub will combine these two things even more effectively, helping us to support women directly, while also contributing to our fundraising work.”   All of us at Anawim are very grateful to the Benefact Trust and the Heart of England Community Foundation’s Women and Girls Fund for the generous grants which made the hub a reality.   The pre-loved hub will be open on 8th October 1-4pm, then Tuesday to Friday 12-3pm. Donations are currently on hold. For more information on the Big Give, which runs from the 8th-15th October, click here.
