Work in Progress is a collection of poetry of various forms and themes. It includes poetry written around my time as Staffordshire’s Young Poet Laureate (2018-2019) - an opportunity I am ever grateful for. I am 17 years old and am currently studying A-levels at college: this book has been such an achievement for me during these early stages of my poetry career. My poetry style develops throughout the book and has developed since its final poem. Unfinished poems are also included in the book - these pose a challenge to readers to try and finish them themselves. I have performed at both poetry and dramatic events in Birmingham, both of which I think were fantastic.
The scrapbook feel to parts of the book really encapsulates the ‘Work in Progress’ theme of the collection, and I hope that people will thoroughly enjoy the read.
