Originally from Canada, Sharon Carr, has been a Midlands dweller for many years.

She can trace her love of stories back to her Welsh mother who was a great storyteller often recalling stories of her time of growing up in a large family in Wales before and during World War Two.  Sharon started out as a storyteller in 2010 and until two years ago, was one of the resident storytellers at Birmingham Storytelling Café. Since leaving, she now co-hosts a storytelling/spoken word event with her friend and fellow storyteller, Pyn Stockman, every two months at Artefact in Stirchley in South Birmingham – “StoryVibes – storytelling, spoken word and music”.

For the past four years, Sharon has had a short residency as the Storyteller at Tudor House Museum in the city of Worcesterand will be back there again this summer for more family storytelling via Zoom.  Sharon has also performed as a storyteller at festivals, museums, libraries, spoken word events and wherever she gets a chance to tell a tale!  Her style has been described as energetic, lively, and imaginative and she has developed a varied repertoire of stories that appeal to all ages.
