Transport chiefs are advising people to avoid the Kingsbury Road area in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham from today (Tuesday August 2) as thousands of sports fans head to the Alexander Stadium for the start of the track and field events.
A park and ride facility for spectators has been set up at the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) site off Kingsbury Road with a fleet of shuttle buses ferrying fans to and from the stadium.
To help manage expected congestion around the JLR facility between now and the closing ceremony on Monday (August 8) bosses at Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) are encouraging people to avoid the area during the start and end times of the athletics events and plan ahead accordingly.
