Based on the novel by J.M. Barrie, the music and lyrics are adapted by Piers Chater Robinson and has toured thrioughout Europe including the West Wnd breaking Box Office records.

The story of Peter Pan has been thrilling audiences  around the world for over a hundred years. The musical adventure at The Old Rep in Birmingham follows the Darling children as they embark on an adventure to Neverland with Peter Pan and encounter a fairy called Tinkerbell, a crocodile and wicked pirates led by the infamous Captain Hook.

After eight years of hosting quality Christmas productions this could be The Old Rep`s biggest yet.  It`s an unmissable family treat this festive season with fantastic flying sequences.   Will Monks is Lighting & Projection Designer, Clive Meldrum is Sound Designer and Ruth Morgan is Production Manager.

"Since 1904 Pan has been flying into theatres around the world and despite this year`s production having a classic title for our historic stage" said Darren Knapton, Theatre Manager.  "We are truly privileged to work with the BOA Group, a troupe of talented professional cast members and a fabulous creative team who are dedicated to bringing an enchanted, brand new telling of one of the great family stories of all time."

This swashbuckling production is  superb - from the carnivorous crocodile to the Darling children -  Wendy, John and Michael - who navigate the skies and  fly across the stage. Daniel O`Neill is Set Designer whose credits include producing for bands such as Iron Maiden and Fall Out Boy.    There is nostalgia galore as the audience is taken to the land of eternal youth with Pan and the Darling children as they join the Lost Boys and the elves.  "Second star to the right and straight on till morning" said Peter Pan on the flight to Neverland and we were all whisked away and reminded of what it is to be a child again.

The costumes are top notch (designed by Leanne Fitchett),  the songs are spectacular (Stephen Watkins is Musical Director) and the choreography is superb, courtesy of Cici Howells who is Choreographer,    The role of Peter Pan is played by Thea Jo-Wolfe who has revisited the role which was her very first childhood show as a feral Lost Boy.  Rhian Lynch has flown into Birmingham to play the role of Wendy Darling.  Matthew Christmas plays the roles of Hook and Mr Darling.  Having the opportunity to play such an iconic role as Captain Hook was the reason he first took to the stage as a wide-eyed eight year old.  Penny Ashmore plays Starkey and Mrs Darling, Stefan Davis plays Smee and Nana and Morag Mayland plays John Darling.

"What a story we have for you" said Alec Fellows-Bennett, Director of Peter Pan the Musical.  "Children flying from their beds, pirates, fairies, elves, mermaids, the famous Pan and Hook - not to mention the dreaded ticking Croc!  This right of passage story speaks down the ages because at every point of our development from our own childhood through to being a grandparent ourselves, there are elements that speak to us anew.  Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this interpretation of Peter Pan to life, especially the fantastic students and staff at BOA Stage and screen who have worked so hard alongside the professional production team to realise and create our vision."

Peter Pan runs at The Old Rep from Tuesday 5th December until Sunday 31st December and is suitable for ages 4+ and is an unforgettable Christmas extraganza.

Five Gold Stars for Peter Pan - an unmissable family treat this holiday season.
