The chain brings a broad mix of dishes to Midlands holidaymakers, with its chicken katsu curry, ramen dishes, rice bowls and plant-based options served throughout the day in the 363m² restaurant, which seats up to 180 guests.
Early‑morning flyers can also access a dedicated breakfast offer, bringing together Asian‑inspired fusion dishes with familiar breakfast favourites to start the day.
Located within the new commercial concourse, just after World Duty Free and towards gates 1-20, the restaurant will be open to passengers from 0400 hours until the final departure each day.
The pan-Asian eatery has been delivered in partnership with The Restaurant Group Concessions (TRGC), who continue to support the development of BHX’s growing concessionary offering and already operate Giraffe and Indian Brewery at the airport.
Richard Gill, commercial director at Birmingham Airport, said, “wagamama is a great addition to our restaurant offerings at Birmingham Airport, arriving just as we welcome a busy wave of summer travellers heading off on their holidays.
“It’s a brand our passengers know and love, and its arrival brings even more choice, while strengthening the range of high-quality food and drink in the terminal throughout the day.”
Jonathan Knight, CEO of TRGC, said: “Opening wagamama at Birmingham Airport is another exciting milestone in our long-standing partnership with the brand and further strengthens our commitment to bringing high-quality dining experiences to travellers across the UK.
“It's particularly fitting that this opening comes as we celebrate 35 years of airport hospitality, while also looking ahead to an exciting new chapter with Areas that will allow us to continue our expansion and enhance our offering to UK travel hub partners and customers.”
Francisco Neves, SVP Franchise + Partnerships International, wagamama added: “We’re so excited to be bringing wagamama to Birmingham Airport and welcoming travellers to a little taste of wagamama before they take off.
“We know how much our guests love discovering fresh, delicious food wherever their journey takes them, and this new opening gives us another fantastic opportunity to share the wagamama experience with even more people.”
