A new next generation advisory board has been established to support the Lord Mayor of Birmingham’s Charity.

The board, led by Heather Woodhouse, communications lead at Birmingham Colmore, has been formed with the support of the charity’s Chairman PJ Ellis.

The next generation advisory board will act as a bridge between the charity and emerging voices across the city, helping to shape its direction, language, outreach and fundraising approach.

Meeting quarterly, the voluntary group will provide insight, challenge and guidance to the charity’s trustees, with meaningful influence on its future direction.

Heather Woodhouse said: “We strongly feel that the Lord Mayor of Birmingham’s Charity must stay deeply connected to the city it serves, not just professionally, but culturally and communally too.

“This board is about bringing together a diverse group of young voices who can challenge, guide and motivate the charity to remain relevant, ambitious and reflective of Birmingham in all its richness.”

Chairman PJ Ellis added: “It is vital that the charity continues to evolve with the city. This next generation advisory board brings new energy, insight and lived experience to our work, ensuring we stay connected to Birmingham’s communities and future leaders.

“I’m delighted to support its formation and the role it will play in shaping the charity’s next chapter.”

The founding members of the next generation advisory board are Heather Woodhouse (Birmingham Colmore), Joel Blake (Wilkes), Iliyana Deliradeva (F1 Arcade), Ashley de Souza (Prosper UK and Consultant), Carl Woods (Made by Brum), Deschanell De Costa (D5 Architects), Trevor Price (TV Trev), Nicole Daybell (Tribera), Jastan Gill (Santander), Ayanna Allen (Zeen Creative), Sayma Bhuiya (Aston University), Paige Lee (All in All Events), Naomi Campbell (BRCK Group), Ayan Aden (Birmingham Poet Laurete) and Gracie Wegrzyn (Gateley Legal).

Through its work, the board aims to strengthen the charity’s relevance with new audiences, support a more confident and connected Birmingham, and build stronger partnerships across the city.
