Katrania Lowers, backed by Richard Meek of Colmore Partners, has created MoneyKats after seeing people repeatedly asked to make major financial decisions without ever being taught how any of it works.

The platform is built around five life stages - Women & Money, Young Professionals, Wealth Builders, Mid-Career & Family, and Retirement & Later Life - and will offer free digital courses, video content, calculators and other resources from launch, with no paywall.

MoneyKats will also provide financial coaching for people wanting more structured support, alongside a separate schools and colleges programme for 14 to 18-year-olds and workplace education packages.

Lowers  said: "People are expected to understand an enormous amount about money, but very few of us are ever actually taught it properly.

“I wanted to build something that gives people access to clear, practical financial education related to the stage of life that they're at, without needing to be wealthy enough to access advice first.

“MoneyKats is not another finfluencer page. It has been built from the perspective of a practising Chartered Financial Planner, and although I am obviously biased, I genuinely think we are creating something that can be really useful to people.”

MoneyKats is due to launch this autumn, with a Birmingham launch event to be confirmed.
