'Furry by Nature' is the third in a serial of Wereromance tales, written by Bilston-based Steven C. Davis. Available in paperback (and hardback and Kindle soon) from early April 2022, it tells the tale of Natalayiana Harewood, a social worker who is trying to help those who've fallen through society's cracks, whilst hiding a very large and dangerous secret...

Taking inspiration from Laurell Hamilton's 'Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter' series, the 'Less than Human' serial paints a world where everyone knows about Weres, but no one has actually seen one. In the States there are rumours of Werewolves, but in the UK it's Werefoxes, Weresheep and the like...

Nat has started seeing things that are not there and fears it’s because of her condition. There's no one to ask, life is spiralling out of control and then she gets offered her wildest dream. It's something, to stay safe, she definitely shouldn't do.

But staying safe is not enough; is not living. But staying safe is your only option when you're furry by nature.

'Less than Human' covers are by Halesowen-based Nicky Rowe, who also creates music under the 'Nightlights' name. https://nightlightsuk.bandcamp.com/

The books are available from Steven at the Raising Steam Festival, the publisher's Etsy site https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TenebrousTexts/ or on Amazon.

Book 4, 'First and Last and Always' will be out towards the end of the year.
