In light of today’s government announcement, Birmingham’s Millennium Point is looking forward to welcoming conference guests back from 1st October.

Rebecca Delmore, commercial director from Millennium Point said: “We are thrilled to hear that conferences and indoor events can start to take place from the 1st October, and that we now have a confirmed timescale that we can work to, to enable us to support our events customers.

“We typically welcome thousands of visitors through our doors each month, but our events business has understandably been hit hard over the last few months. Since the start of lockdown, our award-winning team has been working hard behind the scenes to not only implement a number of safety and hygiene measures, but also looking at unique ways that we can use the incredible spaces that we have. For example, we have just announced a series of socially distanced cinema screenings, which have been very well received.

“We were one of the first venues to develop or own Client Protection Plan which is designed to reduce risk for clients and attendees while they are using our event spaces. The plan includes provisions for social distancing while at an event, contact-free catering and enhanced technology options for those who don’t wish to attend in person, plus much more.

“We’re in a fortunate position as we have a lot of space on offer, so we are able to accommodate social distancing easily. We have 17 flexible spaces available including our Auditorium with its Giant Screen, where we are able to safely reduce figures from 354 to 190 guests. We have a multitude of spaces that people can hire for their conferences, plus our proximity to the city centre means that we are easily reachable from all directions whether people choose to use public transport or drive.

“We can’t wait to start welcoming conference delegates back through the doors at Millennium Point.”
